Okay, I will bang into this brick wall one more time. Your statement has two components 1) The LVs did what they were supposed to do and 2 ) the tournament starts with the sweet 16 game--which clearly minimizes the significance of the LVs first two tourney wins.
Per point 1) yes by ranking, the LVs were favored/expected to beat St. Louis and Toledo. No disagreement here.
Per point 2, pointing out that Stanford, Iowa State, Duke, Indiana, NC St., Washington St. and Texas did not do "what they were supposed do" is NOT "what aboutism." Rather, it demonstrates that the NCAA tournament begins with the opening games, regardless of how teams are ranked and that the path to the Sweet 16 for higher ranked teams is not a given in this age of parity. The fact the LVs made these two opening wins look easy and routine is a testament to their focus, preparation, and execution (Ya know coaching stuff that Tara, Kara and others in this set did not accomplish).
The fact that you can not even acknowledge the actual fact that the tournament begins when the tournament beings shows you are just a perpetual naysayer with an ax to grin.
But hey it is a free country. I support your right to grind away if that brings you some weird kind of satisfaction.
