The Official #12 Tennessee @ Auburn Game Thread, 2:00 PM ET, ESPN

James 4-11 and one rebound. He can't be trusted in a big game.
Problem is that he's the guy that we should be counting on game in and game out. Sometimes he's just not gonna show up. Frustrating but hardly surprising. This team is what it is. Having said that, this one won't be a big deal when it comes to seeding, but it does, perhaps, give us an idea of what to expect come tournament time. Just enjoy what's left of the season and try to recognize the limitations we have especially without ZZ. I'll be happy if we can avoid one and done in the NCAAT.

So we have to play on Thursday now. Better not lose that game or you probably drop a seed line since it will be to a bad team.

This is not a bad team. They are just not as good as hoped / projected.

If they don’t win at least one SEC tournament game . . . Maybe two . . . They are likely a 4 seed. Advancing to the sweet 16 will depend on the matchup.

No really great teams this year.

This is a prime example of an over-reaction. I agree we let one get away, but Auburn had a lot to play for and was hitting a bunch of junk.

Where is the overreaction? Please explain.

Aidoo - not any good
Plasvic - not any good
ON - average at best
JJJ - disappointment
Awaka - promising

Barnes only calls an offensive play once or twice a game, Pearl calls the offensive play every other series and still calls those set screens for the screener as he did at Tennessee. Barnes upper classmen have all topped out, are not fundamentally sound in the complete game to play against the talented teams and Vescovi, Plavsic and Nkumwa are nice projects and have done extremely well at Tennessee, but have significant defensive failures and offensive breakdowns with regularity. JJJ should join them all seeking fortunes playing in Europe next year, turning the reins over to the younger guys which have greater upside going forward.

If you are suggesting Pearl’s guards are better or more disciplined, I can’t help you. Green and Johnson are not disciplined players.

Broome outscored our 4 post players by himself. Add in missed FT and averaging 10 steals a game and only having 3 and there's a loss.

Well, we didn’t play bad on the road, but our defense wasn’t very good, and our turnovers (particularly late) and FT problems got us beat. Figured without ZZ and based on how we played against Arkansas, we would try and play big, but a lot of finesse in our offense today.

We really haven’t had an identity on offense most of the year. Vescovi played well but didn’t have enough help. Rotation was odd today. Would like to win a couple in SEC tourney (for confidence purposes) and get ready for the big Dance and hope for the best and decent matchups.
