Might need to watch 1883 first, don't need to watch Yellowstone. And you really only need to watch the first 2 and last 2 episodes of 1883.

Only reason I know is I read a recap and an interview with the actor who plays Spencer. Paramount is horrible at letting viewers in the loop.
