Looking back it was part of his worst group of decisions. I see why he did it though. You are making people sit at home and the job loss would've been significant with no means of income. The real issue was the lack of time to implement options that made real sense instead of mailing "everybody" checks. This made democrats salivate at the potential of what they could do next.

Trump was also all in on having China bear some responsibility for unleashing covid and the financial and human destruction as a result of it. The speculation as to how and why it was unleashed varies. What is clear, is that democrats appeared to protect China by any means necessary. I think it was for various reasons we've previously discussed.

Edit: Come on y'all. Nobody is buying that Tennessee was any kind of leader when it came to COVID lockdowns, and that was obvious to the country based on everybody flocking to Florida. DeSantis was a leader. Hog just didn't like him because he stopped businesses from requiring COVID vaccination.

I’m sorry Weeze but you are wrong. I don’t know what part of TN you are in but around here everything was pretty much open by mid April 2020. Plus allowing the localities to decide was the proper way to handle it. Decisions like that should always be made at the lowest level of government possible.

DeSantis wasn’t a leader he was a reactionary attention whore. Heck I think even GA opened up before FL did.

From what I could tell there was a lot of ignoring in Tennessee period. I mean the hypocrisy of keeping lowes and Home Depot open but closing restaurants.. ok. The whole government response to COVID should prove to everyone that pharmaceutical companies are the pimps to the HHS which is run by a lawyer and not a physician. Typical politics.

Good for them. I ate 1/2 price wings and BBQ every night in JC…..TOGO because the restaurants were worried the food would spoil. The REAL sad situation was when Lee opened back up but Northam didn’t and one side of the street in Bristol offered dine in and the other was carry out only.

Georgia at the very least had dine in opened back up by July 4th, and I’m sure it was before that. But you had to stay at a hotel outside of Fulton County if you wanted to use the pool which was absurd.

No sir it was definitely his press conference/ statewide directive. I remember being furious about the restaurant shutdown and then more furious about the take out alcohol, because if it’s ok during a pandemic it should be ok all the time. Lee is just your typical nosy Republican. The only difference between he and a Dem is they just want to infringe on different rights.

I’m no fan of Lee. In Rutherford county the restaurants only shut down for a couple of weeks and never enforced the ridiculous mask mandates

@Lawrence Wright The irony about what is going on in plenty of schools is that a specific study known as the Bobo Doll Test is something I bet you use to show how culture can alter a perception of who is bad or a villain based on skin color. You support lessons that enact that same tragedy on other kids but this time it's white skin.

Do you support lessons such as this?

For starters, Duval County removed biographies of Roberto Clemente and Hank Aaron from public school libraries because the books referenced the racism both men faced.

I consider that to be an extreme application, just like the video you posted…which I also don’t approve of.
