We took one of our kids to a college visit at Mississippi State on Presidents’ Day. We got there the day before to take in a game at Dudy Noble. The Bulldogs were hosting VMI of the SoCon. Until the eighth inning, Mississippi State was only up by one run. On Saturday, despite VMI spotting them an eight run lead in the first inning, Mississippi State lost. They are still having some issues from last year.
Their ballpark is incredible. It has the largest capacity for any college ballpark, coming in at over 15,000. In the left field they have their baseball condos. They are each two bedroom, two bath. When they opened up in 2019, they cost $45,000 a year. Along the outfield wall they have five levels of grilling/seating (you can see that in the foreground of the photo of the baseball condos). That area is a vegetarian‘s nightmare. All sorts of a great smells and socializing going on.
As I said awhile back in another post, I would wear Tennessee gear. In addition to the shirt, I had a Tennessee baseball hat and the UT Nikes- they were a great way to strike up conversations with Mississippi State people because we all love college baseball. The folks were incredibly nice and they were rightfully proud of their ballpark.
If you have a reason to go, I suggest going to a Mississippi State ballgame.
