OldTimer’s Dugout - Off Topic Thread

Ok, I'm wrong I see that the Lions fan and Arsenal soccer meant 30,000 posts in general topics except for no politics thread.

I might be changing my Avatar to a Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) before February 26 because the ones shown below are the ones I have available to use.
The second and third are both amazing drawings that mostly look equal to the Jim Lee Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) style shown on the right. Both are excellent quality drawings of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) that I would proudly hang on the refrigerator in my house.

Also, I do need to write a spoiler-free review of Adventures in Babysitting since I watched that great comedy family movie that is filmed in Chicago because it's set in that great Midwest Metroplis City.

All good man, no worries. Cool thing about the avatars is that you can change ‘em anytime ya want.

GBO!!!

What was the very first game you attended there?

Golly, good question…I’m gonna have to phone a friend. I know I went over there when I was in little league, but I can’t think, as it currently sits, but I know I didn’t start going on a regular basis until CDS was there.

I'm with 66 on this one, I have no recollection of my first game as my dad took me in the late 70's I'm guessing. From my memory it was during the John Whited era as we use to go over when I was in High School.

Not sure of the year but my Papaw took me to watch Steve Searcy(he was an acquaintance of his dad) and I was star struck over Searcy, who in my young mind was a professional baseball player and excited that he lived not far from me, just over the ridge.
Probably early 80’s? I was very young.

I like the last one.
Jim Lee is one of my favorite artists.

How are we feeling about 5 baseball games and 2 basketball games within a 6 day period starting tomorrow? 😁

GBO!! Being retired & all I'm all for it. But, I'm sure to miss a game or two. I have to be at the Nashville Airport tomorrow at 4:30 CT to pick my brother & his wife up flying in from California & bring them back to Jackson. We're in the process of selling my mother's house & I'll be busy with an estate sale & with signing the closing papers for the sale :) done dirt cheap.

LNS opened in 1993. I think I might have been part of a pep band at the opening. I for sure remember being part of a pep band there, I just can't remember for sure if it was the opening. That was a long time ago, and I was a lot younger. Lot of life has happened in between.
