I kinda do the same on Rick Barnes slander. There's the obvious deserved criticism for lack of March success and that probably always will be. BUT, if you look at the details, we lost on a buzzer-beater 3 by the cinderella team in admiral/grant's next to last year. Then we lost on a complete BS foul against Purdue with the shooter kicking his leg out. If that doesn't happen, and it never should have, we make the Elite 8 that year and only God knows from there.

Most other Barnes criticism, IMO, is criticizing him on whatever bar he's set. We're not a historic basketball program so having a coach this good just makes me thankful for the years remaining. He's continuing to recruit extremely well, his teams are disciplined and play hard, and he's done everything with grace and class all along the way. I overlook most of the flaws because we have no business being this good for this long in basketball.

Neither did I & I was also curious why our guys were striking that pose. Evidently John Metchie did it (along with another WR) after scoring when he was playing for Bama, became a thing (maybe). Then Auburn did it after sweeping them in basketball. Metchie diagnosed with leukemia this past summer. I think it's a bit of a reach on the part of the reporter, but after reading about the origins, I'm fine if we never do it again. (I had thought it was just the idea (a la Karate Kid) of underdog winning.)

Oh come on...it has nothing to do with making fun of Metchie...I hate this PC .

I don't even think this qualifies as political correctness. The PC stuff is either - good intentions with bad execution or bad intentions to silence/cancel a political enemy.

The schedule also gets a bit tougher in 2023 with SEC trips to both Florida and Alabama, although two-time defending national champion Georgia has to come to Knoxville in late November. -- Chris Low

Really? We get Virginia instead of the defending ACC champs at their place. People forget how close that was to being an early season falter.

And then we had LSU at their place...who (of course) just magically ended up being really good and the West champs. Then UGA at their place.

I'll take the gumps at their place. And UF...lol. Seriously?

Then there's TAMU, who admittedly, could be a wildcard, but imo still much better than the 2022 LSU we faced.

In fairness we haven't won @ FL in 20 years but Heupel likes breaking streaks so I'm feeling decent about that one.

I always loved those duties. I wasn't the greatest defender, but if I was given an assignment I would rough that guy up until he quit. And on the boards I did everything illegal until they called it. And then I kept doing it. I got no more pleasure in basketball than boxing out a dude a half foot taller all the way back until he fell on his backside mid-air. They always looked perplexed at what had just happened

Last year spoke volumes. That wasn't a comeback or luck win. We easily could/should have walked away a 3 td winner. But similar to Pitt we were still coming into our own. If that had been midseason it would have been UGLY.

Even UF fans know they'll be lucky to not lose by double digits in the swamp next year.

If you really criticize the arguably best coach we have ever had at Tennessee, that has provided us with arguably the best era of Tennessee basketball ever...then you deserve to get your head ripped off.

Her instagram profile. Yes, she admits she is a gump. She also states she is a UTK alum. Finebaum made his bacon catering to the Gumps, whether he admits it or not. He has built himself a nice career. Good for him. She is a wannabe, as I stated.
