I've got a wooden, 7' tall fence around my backyard/swimming pool area. No holes or unlocked gates.

I heard some noises and checked to see what was going on. There was an adult German Shepard in the yard. I have no idea how he made it in. There is no one else here and no one outside. There is 1 tree near the fence. . .

Can a German Shepard climb/jump a 7' fence? Only thing I can think is he somehow jumped over. Wish I had a video of it.

IDK, but I once had a 95# Rottweiler that jumped over our 6' fence when she saw a neighbor's dog come across our front yard. 🙂

Then years ago in Canada, I had an employee who got in trouble with the cops because her German Shepherd jumped over her backyard fence several times, and one time the dog wound up biting someone who was just walking by.
Our neighbors where I grew up had a German. It loved to jump their fence, you'd be driving by and there'd be a dog standing in the middle of the road just staring at you.

A motivated one can. Dogs can accomplish a lot of insane feats, just that they usually don't know they can without training.

We could lose to any talented and even mediocre team. This is good team with flaws that can beat anybody when they play really hard...when they let up a little on defense (or the opponent just has one of THOSE games) and/or the offense completely tanks (which they do somewhat consistently) they can lose to anybody.

They can't control horrid biased crooked officiating or the opponent just having one of THOSE random shooting nights...but they can definitely control showing up focused and playing hard like they did last night.

I think part of the reason for that is that we are a strong 'team' but we don't have one player that can just take over if it goes south (Phillips could have been that person). I believe the stat posted last night was that we don't have a top 10 player in rebounds or scoring in the SEC.

Gonna miss Darnell like Trey and Cade before. Hopefully the next 5* type BA is already on the team just without the stahs. But sure wouldn't hurt if we could grab a couple in the next few years. Our offense will hum as long as our OL is competent.
Initially going to miss him much more because of losing an equal rock in Carvin on the other side. But every season with Ellarbee, this position group gets saltier overall as a position group…reminiscent of his time at Mizzou with way fewer high school star rankings. Spraggins, Mays and the Mincey/Crawford tag team are ready to shine and there’s no doubts in my mind that Karic/Nichols and Campbell (training up LJIII) will perform well above “competent” level.

We had a chocolate lab that got us in trouble. Could get through any hole he could fit his head through, and could climb anything. Got through a cattlefence cage we built over the kennel and licked our pretentious Florida-origin neighbor walking dachshunds at 5am.

We had to move him to a friend's place with a professional duck dog kennel. He escaped a 9ft chain link kennel by climbing to the rafters on the fence, then slipping through the gap between the top of the fence and the eaves of the roof... then he'd just chill in the yard laying in the sun.

That is one of the big flaws this team has...so is not having a great driver like Chandler that can create offense and draw fouls when the outside shots aren't falling.

Use to have a German Shepard, we had like a 4/5' fence like a cattle fence for his pin. Was just there for looks mostly, if he wanted to come say hi he'd just hop it and come over.

A friend of mine ended up with the dog, he had a proper 6' fence in his backyard made of wood. He eventually had to get rid of him too, because he'd constantly hop the fence while the friend was at work and the neighbors kept complaining.

They are athletic dogs though, so wouldn't surprise me at all.

Yeah our highest rated rebounder per game is JJJ at 5.3 (24th in the SEC) Aidoo is sitting at 5.1 a game (29th). Then ON, Phillips, and Santi all around the 35th spot.

Santi is our highest in PPG at 12.3 which is 22nd in the SEC.

ZZ is 2nd in the league in APG at 5.5 (Santi is 22nd with 2.7)

We have 2 guys in the top 4 in steals at 2.0 both ZZ & Santi

And now Aidoo is 9th in BPG with 1.2

So yeah it's a stat that jumps out when you state it the way ESPN did, but they don't mention the other important stats and the fact we've got guys in the top 10 there...shows that a lot of these talking heads only look at points and rebounds for the be all stats.

Thankfully the dog isn't mean and neither is mine. I do kinda wonder who would win, though I'm glad it didnt happen. Staffordshire Bull vs German Shepard. . .

I knew they could jump/climb pretty big walls, but I've only seen that happen when they're trained to do it. My dogs are males, so I don't think it was to breed. Just strange. I'll have to put out a camera to see if it does it again.
