The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

A lot of people here defended it…along the lines of things like that “what if he sat out all year”?

But it was never a matter of not wanting to be here with him either. He wanted to get paid, and the Titans took a page from the New England Patriots book when it came to approaching a wide receiver wanting more money…except this team doesn’t have a Tom Brady level QB to fall back on.

Take all the laps you need.

What a great TD play made by that WR for the Eagles. Good thing no NFL team thought it a good idea to, say, randomly trade someone like him away in the kind of move that would set said organization back 5 or so years.

We finally found an elite wr, only to trade him away. Then we use our 1st round pick trying to find a great wr and draft burks. Now this year we still need wr 😂

Only thing that gives me any solace on the Brown trade is that in our 2022 offense he likely catches 40 balls and ends the season on IR.

If we can’t find an elite QB we’re not sniffing a SB for a decade.

I think our window is pretty well shut with the current group. 2021 was the best chance we were ever gonna get. Thing is, there aren’t any real alternatives right now. The AFC is loaded with young QB talent. Besides tearing the whole thing down for a rebuild, our only real position ATM is potentially playing spoiler for some other team. Unless we get lucky and a top-shelf QB falls to us one year. I mean the Chiefs did trade up, but they were still able to get Mahomes at 10, and, similar to us, they already had a decent starter in Alex Smith at the time.

Our version of Jalen Hurts will be in the draft. It's silly not to take HH if available in the right spot and have him develop under Tanny. High character, high football smarts guy with the tools.

Thinking Willis is going to be that guy is delusional IMO. Hurts won at Bama and Okie. Willis could not win the job at a bad Auburn and won at Liberty. The two are not the same, but the fact that the Titans invested a third round pick in Willis tells us what type of O they wanted to evolve to eventually.

NFL is going to go with what they have coming up from the colleges and most have gone that direction.

His age will work against him. If available, would you take him in the third round?

Defended or explained? I’ll own explaining it as Brown didn’t want to be here.
Even if that's the case, we should have gotten more for him. At least another 2nd-4th rounder. Might have even gotten their 1st round pick this year since they have 2. They absolutely fleeced us.

Yeah, I wouldn't say it was a good trade on value even though I understand why he likely made it. There's a reason JRob is gone, and this deal was part of that.
