Kellie Harper discussion/debate thread [merged]

This is the one thing about Kellie I cannot get past. It was obvious she struggles with change, but when she got frustrated enough during that interview to actually say the words "I don't like change," I was kinda gutted. I was gutted because I suspect those four spoken words will hurt her going forward.

I've known people like that, and those I've known were organized beyond belief and highly intelligent, hard-working people. But their aversion to change made them stubbornly ignore some problems because facing them meant change might be expected.

I wish Kellie would get a good psychologist to help her overcome that so maybe she could save her career. Seriously.

In competitive sports the will to win drives change. Continuing losing ways especially at the levels KJH is at, does lead to change. She either makes changes and wins or is shown the door for someone who does.

That 2nd paragraph used to be me, but I learned to navigate change and now I'm stellar in all regards. :)

Seriously though, to openly admit that is very telling. It means she has a limited ceiling in some respect. I didn't hear the comment so I don't know the context. It could be that it was meant for only a specific area of change and she is just a poor communicator. I don't think change means you sacrifice your core principles.

#11 of Pat Summitt's Summitt's definate dozen:

"Change Is a Must
It’s what you learn after you know it all that counts the most.
Change equals self-improvement. Push yourself to places you haven’t been before.
Take risks. You can’t steal second base with your foot on first."

There's a kit for sale for high school coaches. Maybe someone should buy the kit for Kellie.

Kellie may indeed take a high school coaching job in the Knoxvlle area before leaving the beautiful mansion she purchased there at a bargain.

If Jordan Horston and Rickea Jackson had been playing together the whole year as starters,, we would have a Michael and Scottie Right now.
Like Vito Corleone said to Micheal in the " GODFATHER" ....." There wasn't enough time, Micheal ....there wasn't enough , time".

Does Tess play warrant 20 mins a game? If she was 10+ points a game were not having this discussion.

Nobody is saying throw in the towel, but if you keep doing the same thing and getting the same results you’re doing it without saying it.
111 points in 12 games (SEC play) 9.25 ppg 38/95 at 40% shooting… can’t believe those darn .75 ppg are causing such a discussion to cut her mins

All this Tess/JP discourse… why is there no Puckett discussion? To me she has had a middling year at best. Her and Jill could really take UT over the hump imo with more consistency

So again, thanks for proving my point against an inferior SEC (excluding LSU) she is .75 under. I stated 10+ meaning 10 was the minimum. Taking your numbers of points, I did the same for those 9 losses. South Carolina game results pending.

56 points in 9 games, 6.2 ppg, shooting 17/47 (36%). As a bonus, that comes to 22.6 mins a game (204 min played). Consistency is lacking, in the big games which has been my stance as she seems to fade away. These are off the bench numbers, not #3 numbers which is why a team focuses on taking JH or RJ out of the game offensively because we don’t have a player to consistently make up the difference.

The overall 40 minute efficiency rating on both players meaning their overall game rebounding, steals. scoring etc is Tess 14 and Justine 11. Tess has been more efficient overall, but she has a lot more opportunity to get in a flow that Justine.

AP Top 25 out.......................Baby Blue Vols.................Nadda!
