President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

DeSantis is beating Trump by 20 pts in internal GOP polling and will be the nominee. The Democrats want it to be Trump because they think it's their best shot so they and The MSM will try to keep Trump in as the nominee but in the end it will be DeSantis. Not sure who the Democrats will choose but it's obvious Biden's handlers have ended the useful idiots chances with the classified documents "discovery".

Who come after? Surely not Mooch, Newsom or Buttigeig

Serious question:

Has LG formed a single post in 6 years that did not include the word "Trump?" It's very strange.

I mean: I agreed with most of his policies, voted for him (twice), am certain that the Nation would be in significantly better shape had he been reelected, and yet most days go by without him even crossing my mind.

There’s a scene near the end of the movie Ace Ventura Pet Detective where Ace says: “If the lieutenant is indeed a woman as she claims to be then (Ace gets really loud) she is suffering from the worst case of hemorrhoids I have ever seen!”

It’s in that same spirit I declare: If LG is indeed a centrist as he claims to be then…HE IS SUFFERING FROM THE WORST CASE OF TDS I HAVE EVER SEEN!!

Even Obama is staying away from this sh!tshow. He isn’t defending him.

Obama is probably keeping quiet while he finds a way to bury what he's got. Considering what's been found so far, the raids need to expand immediately to all ex-presidents and VPs. I'd go after a bunch in congress, too ... and heads of agencies.

Obama is untouchable. Heck he probably has more fingers on the gov that one would admit. He is the Godfather of this BS

Tarlov is an absolute BOSS. Rubs the knuckledraggers nose in it ever single day.

Congress holds the purse strings. The president can ask, but congress still controls the amount. I've never figured out exactly why presidents get the blame. Remember congress had a hissy fit when Trump tried to reallocate funds?

Sure. I believe that.

Biden admin issues 20-year mining ban as it turns to foreign supply chain amid green energy push

Twin Metals' mining project contained about 88% of the nation's cobalt reserves in addition to vast copper, nickel and platinum-group elements. Such critical minerals are vital for various green energy technologies like electric vehicle batteries, battery storage facilities, solar panels and wind turbines, which the Biden administration has aggressively pushed.

For example, an electric vehicle requires 500% more mineral resources than a traditional gas-powered car, while a single onshore wind turbine plant requires 800% more minerals than a typical fossil fuel plant, according to the International Energy Agency.

However, China, other hostile nations and countries with severe human rights concerns dominate the global mineral supply chain.

The State Department recently signed an agreement that opens the door to financing mining projects in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), which mined more than 70% of the global supply of cobalt in 2021 and is home to 3.5 million metric tons of cobalt reserves. But independent investigations conducted in recent years have found that cobalt mines in the DRC employ child laborers.

"If Democrats were serious about developing renewable energy sources and breaking China's stranglehold on the global market, they would be flinging open the doors to responsible mineral development here in the U.S.," House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Rep. Bruce Westerman, R-Ark., said Thursday in a statement. "We cannot have a future of renewable energy without minerals, period — not to mention their necessity to our defense systems, satellites, cellphones and virtually every other advanced technology."

"While Democrats play political ping pong with American industries, China and Russia are laughing straight to the bank," he continued. "The administration's decision to withdraw this mineral-rich area — blatantly targeting one of our country’s most promising mines — is short-sighted, foolish and completely unscientific.

GDP obviously will grow when inflation is on fire. Eggs going from $3 to $6 represents a $3 growth in GDP. Now run that same process throughout the entire economy. In addition to the money printer going brrrr and debt ceilings bring broken.

Ras applying the smack down on the outcomes of inflation to other economic indicators.

Its far past time we stop using GDP as a measure of an economy. Our economy in America is based on services, social media/Big Tech, health care and govt expenditures. Meanwhile, we wonder why a country like Russia can shake off sanctions when produce raw materials and energy. And China may (or may not) have a smaller GDP than the US, but here again, they have a real economy that produces finished products that the world needs.

Twin Metals is owned by Antofagasta plc (Chilean), pretty interesting mining system

Twin Metals Minnesota

Mining lease battle history. I spent a couple of weeks canoeing in the BWCWA and it is one of the most amazing places I have ever visited.

Twin Metals mine - Wikipedia

Ely, Minn., Jan 26, 2023 – Twin Metals Minnesota is deeply disappointed and stunned that the federal government has chosen to enact a 20-year moratorium on mining across a quarter million acres of land in northeast Minnesota. This region sits on top of one of the world’s largest deposits of critical minerals that are vital in meeting our nation’s goals to transition to a clean energy future, to create American jobs, to strengthen our national security and to bolster domestic supply chains. We believe our project plays a critical role in addressing all of these priorities, and we remain committed to enforcing Twin Metals’ rights.

The difference is, NO ONE in the Dem party is saying that's okay. Dems, many in office now and prominent, are criticizing him for that and saying there should be an investigation and let's figure out why this happened and whether there was a compromise of national security.

The GOP, on the other hand, has just a very few people willing to criticize Trump. The rest either run away and hide when asked about it or, worse, try to justify it with lame-ass arguments that Trump could have anything he wants because as ex-POTUS he can retroactively declassify. Just beyond moron level to make that claim.

But there it is. The Dems admit it was error and Biden is at fault and let's fix it. The GOP tries mindlessly (I mean that, literally) to defend Trump.

The GOP is absolutely a pathetic lap dog to Trump on this one.
No one? Ha. There's a lot of 'it's no big deal and what about Trump' out there.

What's the worst that could happen?
I haven't fully completed my bugout shelter down here (in case I can't get back to TN). Plus my boys aren't quite old enough to help when the US completely collapses.

Plus I thought the gop claimed whores shouldn't be VP. Guess blonde ones are ok

Damnit Joe! You can't make things better for Americans, especially right before an election. That's not fair to us. What grievances are we gonna run on if you do that?

I've always like the concept of using resources from elsewhere and preserving our own, but there are definite limits. You have to be prepared to use your own in crisis/wars which means the mining operation has to be developed, producing, and upwards scalable. You have to be prepared to use your own resources to maintain reasonable price and supply resulting from a willingness to compete.

The other considerations are that we absolutely cannot sell rights to or production of our domestic mineral resources to outsiders like China. We have to balance the use of mineral resources with respect to needs - makes no sense to pollute in the name of conservation when the new is in many ways worse than the old. We need a real dose of plain old common sense. Finally we need to get commodity markets and speculation under control - that includes carbon taxes and all the other environmental BS levies.
