I never got to see Manu play as a "college senior"/international player and he came into the NBA at the age of 25.
Contrast that with Santi who just turned 21 ... 5 months ago. That should temper some of the comparisons.
That means he has 3.5 MORE years to work on developing his skills.
Just so we are clear ... Santi indicated that he was modelling his game after MANU!!! Manu IS his role model. https://www.prospectiveinsight.com/post/pro-insight-q-a-series-santiago-vescovi
I think coming in mid-season and starting should tell you a ton about Santi's skill set and comprehension of the game.
CRB calling him the most improved player on the team - 1 year later also speaks volumes on his work ethic.
I would say that they are comparable in a ton of ways!
All comparisons below are 25 vs 21, because I have no idea what Santi will become. Some categories I ignored.
YOU CAN'T TEACH HEIGHT .... Height is a factor. Manu is 3 inches taller and that makes a huge difference! Manu wins this one! And this one fact is HUGE!
I do not know if Santi will ever have the springs that Manu displayed (35"), but on the other hand we did not see much of Chandler's 40 inch jump on display either and I did see SV attempt a dunk at 18 and it was almost there. But that is never going to be his game.

Manu has better handles at 25 than Santi has at 21.
Manu has better right hand shot at 25 than Santi has at 21.
Manu's shot at 25 looks a little quicker than Santi's delivery at 21 ... I expect that to change as Santi's refines his game.
If Santi can play half the years that Manu was in the league - that would be a fantastic achievement.
