7/162 is less than what Patrick Corbin averages, gonna go out on a limb and say that’s not good enough for Max ACEJake Mastrionni of Locked On Braves tonight said that AA told Dave O'Brien in a podcast that the Braves are going to try and lock up Max Fried long term and the possible contract extension would probably be 7 years for 162 million.
Does the board think that Fried will accept that contract?
I would do 7 years for 175 million.
He’s gone. We won’t pay him what he is worth and he won’t take below market (as he shouldn’t).In 2 years Max will be in the $35M range especially with Scherzer, Verlander, and Kershaw probably gone. Lots of teams will have a bunch of money off the books. I wouldn’t take less than $30M AAV in a extension if I were Fried
