I need to run into Heupel so I can tell him that I was a grad student at Texas when he won the natty for OU, which I was extremely displeased with, but I’m aight with him now.

They do have a faculty-coach lunch that I’ve gone to before, but somehow missed it in Fall. Don’t think the football coach usually goes though, because they’re busy around that time. Got my pic taken with coach Barnes last time I went though.

That’s some pretty cool stuff. Nice hanging out with some of these guys and just realizing they’re regular Joe’s. Yeah, I bet you were not happy about that OU game.

Yeah that OU championship was rough because they came out of nowhere after hiring Stoops. They were bad before hiring him but won 7 games his first year and undefeated his 2nd. At the time, Texas and Mack Brown had been good but hadn’t broken through yet (that would come later with Vince Young).

And Rick Barnes was great, he was mostly asking me and another colleague who also got his PhD at Texas during the CRB era about our favorite restaurants in Austin.

Who of you would be interested, if possible, March 4 baseball tailgate? There's a baseball game vs Gonzaga at 6 and men's basketball is either noon or 2 at Arkansas I think. I'm debating bringing a grill and a TV and parking on top g16 and streaming basketball while grilling burgers and hot dogs. We would have plenty of drinks and adult beverages as well and as always my tailgates are FREE. This would be open to all of you, families and students who may lurk here. It's something I'm considering that weekend or an April weekend for my birthday.

That would be my birthday weekend and an excuse to travel to Knox patch. Any concerts over that weekend? Haven’t been home during that time of year since my youth.
