My grandmother is turning 93 tomorrow. When she was a little girl in Humphreys County, my great grandfather had a mule and a covered wagon. He used to go around and pick up kids in the wagon and drop them off at school. That was her school bus all through elementary school. After 6th grade, she stopped school and went to work. It was a vastly different world but really only an instant ago in the grand scheme of things.

INYO. What a weird hill to die on. I’ve read the thread all day and the majority posters were pointing out that he created the offense that a lot of high schools and colleges uses today and that’s what pushes some of the HOF, plus how he elevated the schools he was at. A lot of what you’re seeing is fans would rather Mike Leach had been chosen over Jeremy Pruitt in 2017. I agree.

Please lift up VFL Johnny Mills and his family in your thoughts and prayers tonight as he nears the end of his journey on this mortal earth. A VFL before we ever knew there was such a thing. He was one of the ones that laid the foundation that made us Wide Receiver U.

Wtf?!! Been off of VN since earlier this morning. The Pirate passed?!

So sad to hear. He was a true treasure.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, his coaches, his team, Mississippi State fans and college football fans in general who loved him.

He will be truly missed.

That's a perfect example. And that's had a cascading effect in the league with players like Welker - Edelman, Kupp, Deebo Samuel, Tyreek Hill, Hunter Renfrow, Adam Humphries, etc.

If you are not a media darling...and we definitely are not, then it is like swimming against a rip tide. I just hope our HC and staff are strong enough swimmers to pull us out of it. It is possible, but it will not be easy.

For the past fifteen years….. we deserved the ridicule….. you haven’t been paying attention bc in the last year…. We have become one of the kids…. Trust me recruits are noticing us.

They were behind and desperate to keep up…. Of course they have to pass to keep pace…. They also attempt way more fourth downs against us due to this reason…. That wasn’t the point though…. I was just correcting an incorrect statement by the poster…. Don’t care if anyone disagrees but just bring facts.

"Love you forever" was my first wife and I's go to book for my oldest kids when they were young.

I read it to her the night before she passed.

I haven't read it since.

Guys and gals, gotta take a minute and just tell all of you, I’m so glad to be on this journey with all of you guys. I know we all have different lives and go through different daily struggles but this team, the ORANGE of the VOLS, College football Saturdays, mean so much to so many of us. It’s helped many of us get through tough times and will continue to help so many of us and future generations.

With the passing of Coach Leach it’s been a very somber day for me. I sat in my office today for about two hours and just reflected and thought about life in general, and in doing so it brought tears to my eyes.

Many of us are blessed to still have parents living and other relatives still around and some of us don’t. And as the Christmas season approaches, please just take the time to mend broken relationships and hug and hold the ones you love tightly, cause you never know when it’s your time.

I wanted to say thank you to all you, My VOL family for always supporting us. We truly appreciate every single one of y’all.
