He certainly isn't enough on his own. Murphy was the second best catcher in baseball (just on WAR) last year and he plays in Oakland. He's damn good, BUT I have a big issue with the potential we gave up. And we still have a need in LF and SS and a sh!t farm system.

It's pretty much a given that DS won't be resigned, so it seems SS and LF will continue to be needs. Is there anyone even left to trade?

So here’s my thing…let’s say Oakland obviously wanted Ruiz for whatever reason…couldn’t you have traded TDA to Milwaukee (with two years on his deal) and then Oakland gets Ruiz? He’s not a top 100 prospect by any means. I’m sure Milwaukee could have departed with Ruiz for TDA right? Then you keep Pina as Murphy’s backup and Contreras as your DH
