Agree. We're a third of the way through the season, and they've been practicing since summer. The "early" explanation/excuse has run its course IMO.

She's a VFL and I grew up in Tennessee pulling for the LVs and all of the other teams. Kellie played on the 1996 championship team that was my all-time favorite, and then won two more titles in 97 and 98. I hope she wins every game the rest of the season, makes my first post here look dumb, and hoists the trophy at the end of a 35-5 season. But I am also a realist and I know that is not going to happen. This isn't 1997 and she's not Pat.

Fulmer was under a lot of pressure to hire someone from Pat's coaching tree and couldn't resist it. I hope, when the time comes, that Danny White ignores the yahoos and hires the best coach, rather than take a look at Kyra Elzy or Jody Adams.

I guess it defeats the purpose of your post to discuss what actually happened at NC State. Just too easy to say she got fired......

I would hope that anyone who is posting here knows that she went 70-64 in four seasons, that the team was getting progressively worse, and that she was getting beat in recruiting by everyone and their sister. Yes, she went there with some controversy because State didn't just give Kay Yow's top assistant the permanent gig, but she took them to the NCAAs her first season with Yow's players. If she had followed through, it would have turned out fine, but she didn't.

As a rival, I am jealous of what Dawn Staley has been able to accomplish. She brings in the superstars. But, they play with great chemistry. Helps immensely to have a player like Boston. She doesn't have to get points to be happy. But, when they need her under pressure, she hits the big shots. Truly a great team player surrounded by tremendous, tall talent.

That to me is what seems to be plaguing the team so far. Horston, Jackson, Powell, Walker and Suarez play like they are hell-bent to get theirs and not playing team ball. That's also relegating the rest of the team to being spectators.

Yes. Helped a bit that we tried the one that Coach Summitt selected. But, still near impossible.

Whomever steps in for Coach Saban.....feel sorry for them.

I agree. I am still a huge Holly and Kellie fan. Great players. VFLs. Holly couldn't get it done as a coach and I'm worried about her successor. But they are both all time great Lady Vols.

I enjoyed watching them play Ole Miss last year in Nashville. Tremendous team right there.

That report is pretty straight forward, but some of the posts above suggest there was more to the story. Did something else happen that only folks in the know are privy to?

After Kay Yow stopped coaching, Glance (or someone) took over for 2 or 3 years and had really bad years. Harper was hired but didn’t do much better. Kay Yow’s sister became AD and I think she wanted to hire her own choice for coach plus Kellie was not getting it done. Wes Moore had been Kay’s assistant years before and Key really like him as an assistant. Debbie hired Wes as the new coach. Funny thing, Harper had been Wes’s assistant coach years earlier at Chattanooga.

Hard coaches are the best coaches I seen Pat Summitt stick fingers in Holdsclaw's face numerous times and screamed at players and nobody complained winning covers up everything I assume

Still amazing how a person can read someones mind just by looking at their facial expression or how they move.

Coaches getting heated in timeouts w/each other as one poster said yesterday and Rickea Jackson walking off the court after losing is pretty telling. (Not the first time after a loss she has shown her frustrations, just this time she left instead of doing the handshake line

Man, if only we had some warning as to what we're seeing now...

So basically the research was not done and the blue eyes gave the AD pat summit chills as well as living in the past of kellie helping us win multiple titles overrode anything she did at NC State. The comment of how she struggled to lure difference-making recruits at NC state as the reason she got fired literally hit home for me and the LV's program i was hoping to re-emerge in the future. Right now the future looks terrible .....

I totally agree with this , but where i find a problem is that posters here talk about players not being here in abundance as if we dont need these players to win games lol . We need to set a standard all the way around for players and coaches to not be attacked and speculated on being out. The other board has strict rules about speaking on or insinuating a player transferring. It will get you blocked over there wish we had that same standard on this board.
