Not necessarily because they aren't in the top 4 for conference championships. Those 3 losses puts them out of bye contention so they are seeded just how they're ranked.

I think it’s going off the top four conference champions, as in the highest ranked conference champions. GA #1, Mich #2, Clemson #7, Utah #8, in Final CFP rankings. Thus they get the bye’s.

I don’t like conference rematches unless it’s in the finals or semifinals. Not sure if that can be avoided but it’s my preference. So I might flip Penn State and USC and Alabama and Tennessee.

TCU draws the group of 5 rep and then gets to play Utah…so they would probably still make the semifinals.

I think the process rolls back to ranking in the committee final rankings after the 4 bye’s. That seems the most logical for the way it’s laid out in that bracket.

Florida State will be interesting if Travis returns. A lot of returning talent on that team, but Jordan Travis could determine if they are legit CFP contenders or if they'll be a 7-5/8-4 type team.

North Carolina returns Maye, who could/should be a Heisman finalist this year. I know they struggled in the conf. title game, but they are a talented bunch. Could easily see them knocking off Clemson next year.

After that it's a big drop.Miami continues to recruit well. Whether or not it will translate to the field is TBD. They have a talented trio of QBs, so who knows.

Pitt, NC State, and Wake Forest are all solid but they each consistently finish outside the top 30 in recruiting, so it's harder to predict how good/bad they will be. They all seem well coached at the very least.

The reat of the ACC is a mess. Louisville just lost their coach and they weren't terribly good anyways. Syracuse started hot then lost 5 in row. Duke had a decent season, but I don't think anyone considers them serious threats to win the ACC. Everyone else is pretty awful currently.

Don’t dismiss Duke so quickly. Lost by 3 to UNC, 2 at Pitt, 8 at Kansas when they were super hot and by 3 at GT in OT. That side of the ACC is weak enough that they could easily win it one year soon and once you get in the conference championship you never know what’ll happen.
