The Atlanta Braves - Hello darkness my old friend

Okay, if he's gone, will Grissom be able to handle SS, or will Atlanta look to the trade market for a replacement? I'm guessing if they won't pay Dansby, they won't pay any of the other top FA SS.

No, theyre talking about going over the luxury tax for the right player. There was a report out yesterday that Atlanta rejected 6/140 from Dansbys' camp.
The thing with Dansby is his bat is inconsistent and as he ages his defense will begin to decline, hes honestly not a guy thats worth 23 million.
The hope is we land one of Bogarets, Turner or trade for Adames.

The irony of Bonds and Clemens not getting in today yet the President of the Baseball HOF talking about how wonderful Gaylord Perry was is not lost on me.

Hard to take a Hall of Fame seriously when Bonds isn’t in it as a 7-time MVP and the best hitter in modern history
These writers that flex with their HOF ballot just suck. I get making them wait a little to make a point, but those guys weren't doing anything that half the league wasn't doing. I'm not a fan, but you can't write the history of baseball and ignore Bonds especially. If A-Rod gets in, they'll have issue the audience hip boots and set aside 3-4 days for him to complete his acceptance speech.

The writers hold the "morals clause" only above the heads of players they didn't like. Bonds and A-Rod were/are assholes that did not play ball with the media, so they're out. David Ortiz played nice, provided lots of good soundbites, etc., so he's in.
