If Golesh goes i wonder how possible it would be to bring in a big name at OC like Mullen. Probably not necessary but imagine the brainpower gameplanning offense.
I have no doubt that Heupel has a list of replacements for every assistant that works for him. He doesn't strike me as someone who would be blindsided by any departures. We're in good hands and you need assistant coaches that are good enough to become head coaches.

The thing about Golesh is he meshes so well with everyone. CJH won't want to bring in a big name coordinator that could mess up the staff chemistry.
I believe CJH would be the type to promote internally and then fill in the lower role with a new guy.

Chemistry and understanding of the system are the most important factors IMO

The Orange Bowl takes the highest ranked team from the group of SEC, Big 10 and Notre Dame, after the playoff bowls and the Sugar Bowl, which takes the highest ranked SEC team not in the playoffs.

So this is only an issue because the committee jumped Bama over UT. And it has the opportunity to reconsider that in the final ranking. Certainly the Rose Bowl and OSU could be pushed to a less chaotic solution if 1-8 stay the same.
This is 100% on Sankey. He either successfully pushes for his member school Tennessee to get the power conference opponent we deserve. There is no measurable difference in Bama going to the Sugar or the Orange.

Or Sankey dawdles and backstabs and deserves to be fired immediately. There is too much at stake to have someone with ill will or manifest incompetence running the SEC. And no one will ever believe that he would allow this to happen were it to affect Bama. All Sankey has to do is to emphatically state to the playoff committee that on behalf of the SEC he insists that the committee abide by their own written guidelines or, otherwise stated, that the SEC wants the committee to employ Sankey's and SEC's established rule that a head-to-head win is the tie-breaker.

And I think he would be willing to take a bigger risk on a DC he thinks could elevate the defense. Offense is clicking-- he needs to keep that trust and seamless fit with the OC. Ideally, UT keeps Golesh another year, but he's the one everyone knew would have options.

With the details that this was indeed child porn (pre-pubescent) and him admitting he frequented sites with that sort of material but "tried to shy away from it" there's absolutely no reason to wait. Kitna, unfortunately, is either a full blown actual pedophile (attraction to pre-pubescent children) or someone who was starting to figure out that he was attracted to children (IOW, on his way there).
Pre-pubescent?…. Jalen Kitna is such a disgusting human being.

A new DC you say? Interesting. Lol

Is that the allegation?

Any time you are really good on either side of the ball someone is going to come after those coaches. It happens all the time.......just not here in our recent past. I hope it becomes an annual thing because that means somebody is doing something right.

I think it's going to take a big boy push from UT leadership. The only other unhappy SEC school is LSU-- and they still have a say in their outcome. UT is sitting home with OSU, Bama and PSU.
