I still have Arkansas on the radar just because Jerry Jones is a player.

Mark Stoops would also be on the radar...he's been a lot more vocal/active this season with throwing shade at Kentucky, his AD, and the basketball program and then his squad with the "best QB in the draft" goes 7-5 and loses to Vandy at home

So for me my list of potential schools to look at for a coaching change.

1. Sam Pittman - Arkansas
2. Mark Stoops - Kentucky
3. Nick Saban - Alabama (retiring)
4. Lane Kiffin - Ole Miss (it's Lane...just never put anything past him honestly)
5. Jimbo Fisher - Texas A&M (huge buyout...but 5-7 as the 2nd highest paid guy and having the best recruiting class money can buy)
Saban just signed another extension with Bama that takes him thru 2030 and also made him the highest paid coach in college football. He ain't going anywhere

I used to go to Collegedale for business..LD is immaculately clean and the smell is like off the charts good. Nostril sugar highs.

Unless we’re saying the media is smarter than the consumers (are we saying that?), then it’s really consumer trends at fault. Consumers of media are the ones seeking and sometimes paying a subscription for inside info. Consumers are the ones who give more attention to the media they claim to hate, then blame the media.

I’m not trying to defend the media but they are a business just like any business. Their model is to get the most interaction. Consumer trends give them the data on what drives that interaction.

Mostly agree.

Every time I see tabloids or Kardashian tv shows or "celebrity news" reported as actual news...I think..."how many people are buying/watching this bs?!?". It only exists because someone consumes it...and often seeks it out. We live in a weird society.

Hubbs says that the staff has been talking to James Pearce. Potentially could be a portal risk.
Some of our best freshmen should have been given a bigger opportunity this year. If he leaves, I guess we may hear the next man up mantra again

"Me" power. Takes the focus off the team finishing the season with a big momentum win. That's the nature of college sports now, which makes it even harder to build and maintain a team-first culture. UT has been successful so far.

The Stoops Strategy says a lot about UK.
It's a wash at the end of the day. All coaches have the same problem.

Good for the players though. And I think Heupel is the type that will excel in it. The Dabos and other preachers of Player Poverty will not.

The end user is getting smacked upside the head, too. Schools aren't just absorbing those costs; they're passing some of them along to fans. And asking donors for more and more and more.

Not disagreeing about the lack of parity... but what happens when fans and donors start complaining?
To be fair, it SHOULD be the unis paying them...and it should decrease the salaries of coaches imo. The ratio in college is about 1:1...maybe 2:1.

In the pros (in a free-ish market) the players are valued about 20-30x that of the HC...if we are trying to determine real values.

I have nothing against tattoos. I have several myself. I also have nothing against Coach Heupel. Quite the contrary, in fact. However, I am not getting CJH or Roy Orbison's face tattooed anywhere on my body......again.

Portal is tricky. Not as simple as just bringing in another body, especially at QB. Bringing in the wrong guy can destroy a locker room quicker than anything. Still think Milton has improving to do obviously, but still think Milton should be the guy going into Spring ball. Then see where Jackson and Nico are. I think Milton seems more comfortable throwing inside the numbers instead of the long deep balls down the sideline. May be something that Heup tries to build on or he may look for someone who is more accurate deep and outside. Time will tell.
I'm of the opinion that Milton should keep throwing deep even if he overthrows everybody. It will keep the defense honest and may open up the run game more. No one it gonna just let our WR's run free because they think Milton can't connect. Let him throw it a mile :):):)
