I just don’t see how someone could feel like that, at least personally. Maybe seeing SC take it to Clemson eased the blow. But I finally got to see us beat Bama for the first time since I was in middle school, beat Florida, be ranked #1 and have one of the most fun teams in all of college football. I legitimately thought UT would never be this good again.

I’m stoked all that happened (especially being there to see us beat Bama), but to lose to SC with what was on the line, is why I say it’s a little disappointing. I’m 99% sure I’m going to the bowl game. Hell of a season.

I gotcha. I didn’t see the “little” part of disappointing. I’m just so excited for the future. I like to think in five years (and hey it could go wrong) the 22 SC game is just a bump in the road and not “that was our only chance”

12 team field and we’re still in. I think we’ll be fine moving forward. No one expected it this year. Super pumped for the future.

I'm really curious to see how coaching expectations change with the expanded playoff. For starters, I'd say "...but he's never made the playoff" changes into "...but he's never won a playoff game." For certain teams, consistently making the playoff won't be good enough.

Anecdotal, but initial reaction from my Auburn peeps is either indifference or dislike. Kind of surprised, but I guess they just wanted Lane more.
