Started when ESPN white knighted for Charles Woodson to get the Heisman over Peyton. ESPN faced the backlash of VN, called us trailer trash, and it's been on ever since.

ESPN yanks commercial about Tennessee

ESPN has stopped a college football commercial that angered some Tennessee fans.

The commercial showed Lee Corso, one of the College GameDay analysts, waiting for an elevator. The doors open, and the elevator is filled with orange-clad Vols fans. A pig runs out, and an overweight woman holding another pig and wearing a shower cap and robe yells, "Come here, Rocky Top!"

An elderly man wearing shorts and hooked up to an IV bottle is shown with a couple kissing in the back of the elevator. A sign mentioning Tennessee alumni also is visible.

The Tennessee football office said it was swamped with calls the past few days from fans upset about the commercial.

ESPN spokesman Mike Humes said Tuesday the commercial will no longer be shown.

"This spot was one of many we created for the tongue-and-cheek style College GameDay campaign," Humes said. "It is never our intention to offend anyone, and we are sorry if we did in this case."

The weather could have affected the accuracy of his passes and made it harder to catch them, but Vandy has artificial turf so I don't think our receivers were losing traction. They actually looked like they were flying right past the Vandy DBs.

I think the coaches have a receiver going deep on too many plays. Works great with Hooker in there because he seems to know when to take that shot and is great throwing it deep. With Milton, it's almost like he's determined to throw it deep on any play that has a guy running a go route...and he's too amped up to make that pass. This is all me just trying to make sense of what I'm seeing, and I could be wrong. Milton looks like a different guy coming in late in blowouts with no pressure on him. I really think if the coaches limit his opportunities to throw deep early in games (maybe on 2nd and short where it doesn't hurt to miss) and force him to make 10-15 yard passes, then he'll get comfortable and start dropping dimes on the deep shots.
Hmmmm… I thought having receivers go deep is Heupel’s thing? I also thought the coaches were letting JM practice it? Surely they would have stopped him if they didn’t want him to.

I can't totally agree with that. Yes...society is attracted to scandal and sensationalism. However, I think we would want this to be publicized and become a talking point because some Heisman voters will not like it. The more hits of any type that the other candidates have, the more voters will look around to see who else is out there that they're overlooking. There really isn't a clear choice for the Heisman right now. It's a longshot, but maybe some of them come back around to Hooker and realize what kind of season he had, the impact he had on his team, and the great stats he put up against a tough schedule...despite missing the last game and not throwing late in multiple blowouts.
Hope you’re right. That was disgusting.

Just take out the Bama game and Florida game as well… 😉. Or we could take out every other team’s worst defensive performance and then compare. Lol…

Just highlighting how much a single game impacted the entire outlook of our defense.

South Carolina was the anomaly game this year.
