Airline travel has become too cheap IMO..Say I take a flight from Chattanooga to Atlanta for like $200 of value with 60 people on some puddle jumper. I cannot see how that covers the cost of fuel or any maintenance.

Am I off base?

I think we’re long overdue for an airline implosion. Flight crews are put in untenable situations. Passengers are continually pissed off. I haven’t been on a (commercial) aircraft since March 2020 and don’t miss it one bit.

There are so many revenue streams in play anymore it is hard to keep track. We make a boatload of money of of our partnership with American Express. There are joint ventures with revenue sharing with other foreign airlines...

Yeah it isn't a pleasant experience anymore.

But the CEOs are well paid.

Don't get me wrong either. I love my job. I'm hoping they do away with the discriminatory age limit so I can keep flying for a couple more years too

You haven't seen my game..I haven't played in 10 years and used to play 3-4 times a week. Went to driving range a few times about 3 years ago..my God it was bad..NO POWER. I used to crush my 5W about 200-220 with super high trajectory. Then it was like WTH. I gotta hit a 5W to some 175 yard BS.

Gonna get back into it next year..An E-Bike as well..it will give me my Dirt Bike love.

Yep. Same here. I used to be a damn good golfer with crazy distance on all my clubs and shot low-mid 80’s with the occasional low 70’s round. USED to be. I don’t really mind if I don’t get that good again but FFS I need to get inside of bogie golf on an honest scorecard.

When I moved to Florida I quit playing golf. The courses here are either really expensive or they suck. And either way you have to use a cart.

Agreed. My brother has been retired from Delta for a few years, and he did fly international routes which does change things a bit, but I used to tell him he had the best part time "full time" job imaginable ... except maybe congress. He was home probably more days a month than he flew, and made a lot more than most people and doing something he liked. He was really doing great as a captain before the Delta/Northwest merger screwed up his seniority.

Wait til the inflationary wage rates really kick in; it's going to get real ugly. There's apparently a whole lot of credit card debt, too little in savings, and cost of housing (which isn't on the chart) appears to have gone through the roof for people who don't own a home bought before property skyrocketed and mortgage and rental rates took off.
