Now its confirmed. He has 1 year to fix depth and resolve these issues.

Rushing 4 all night when the QB is having the game of his life doesn’t help them though

We brought pressure with 5 and 6 and still couldn’t cover.
Objectively watch our past games. Our secondary has been horrible all season. We were saved in many games by horrible passes, drops and offensive holding penalties. I wouldn’t be surprised to have an all Underclassmen secondary next year.

I’m not out on Heupel or anything but you’re blind to think that bad if a loss isn’t a red flag.

On Banks, ok.

But Heupel can't call the defensive plays or help what little talent he was left with.

I get it...............Yesterday SUCKED. No other way to say it. Defense screwed the pooch.



BUT.............I'm trying to be optimistic (opposite of what I usually do)...........If you had said back in July..."UT will be 10-2, and going to the Cotton Bowl." I would have taken it and jumped for joy!

I think the passive approach would have worked, and UT would have been able to make staff changes without terminations. That scenario hit a speedbump. Banks will be raised to $1.5MM, and while the spin is he's been tasked with doing a lot with too little, it's a bigger issue than that. He's at UT through 2024 unless he finds something else or CJH pushes a buyout.

What has banks done to deserve 1.5m/year???

Hell, we really need to worry about somehow beating Vandy with a rag tag defense, without our starting QB and possibly without 2 starting WR

I’ve got to admit games like this one makes me think I need to back away from being so bought in with our team.

I was visibly sick this morning, haven’t eaten a thing yet. I know that’s crazy but how do you go from beating Bama and LSU to losing to Shane Beamer. Losing to him is just more than I can stomach.

At this point I’m for real afraid we lose to Vandy! Not kidding..

Coaches knew we were razor thin at LB and secondary.

What's most inexcusable to me is the lack of regard in recruiting to resolve these issues.

Regardless of Banks' personal issues. We knew we werent gonna 'roll with 4 guys.' LB recruiting is, as was DB recruiting, abyssmal.

Now that the NCAA cloud has lifted some… it feels like it is starting to get better…. We have 6 DBs committed and 2 solid linebacker prospects committed… it’s getting better but we had hit rock bottom.

Everyone piling on JB but stuff like that happens in all locker rooms and usually gets sorted quietly. It happened at a bad time and speculation running wild. Don’t let it confuse you on the Banks that’s the real issue. Tim should be fired immediately after the season and go drop some mega cash on a real DC who has experience and maybe even helps with recruiting since he clearly can’t even do that either.

You couldn't have misread my post any worse... All we had left in the season was to beat two teams we are heavily favored against, who we should roll with ease, the teams ahead of us looked and played weak yesterday and had to come back to win, all setting us up for a playoff spot... but then we go and do this... and it was BAD...

I understood perfectly. But you're missing the fact that you could've said this about a handful of other games too. Every other time we "had to win" we did. You're just choosing to focus on the time we didn't. And the only reason we even had ourselves in such a position...was BECAUSE we did win in all of those other critical games.

So when you make it out to be we simply blew it in our one must-win game, it simply isn't true. We failed in one of MANY such situations, the rest all a success.
