Where do we stand now , moving forward in the bowl picture ? 10-2 If we beat Vandy is still a very respectable season ! Do we make a NY6 bowl ?
We should be the second pick coming out of the SEC , we beat Bama and LSU .

I think we drop to 10-12 range. From there, there will be some teams that lose along the way. Likely Utah tonight. LSU should lose in Atlanta….

If LSU loses for a third time, Bama could take the Sugar bowl and we could potentially backdoor the Orange bowl. I saw some projections with LSU in Sugar and Bama in Orange with us and UGA in the playoff. I would expect that to change now. Regardless, goal is finishing 11-2 now. Massive successful year 2 if we do.

They will both be ranked higher than us and that’s what they go off of. Believe what you want to believe but Tennessee will not be going to a NY6 bowl game.

According to the selection process of the sugar bowl the sec champion is an automatic qualifier unless they are in the cfp semifinals. Then the next highest ranked sec team is selected.

If we beat vandy, and Georgia beats lsu, I believe that leaves us as the next highest ranked sec team by virtue of beating lsu head to head.

I think y’all are underestimating how bad this loss is going to look in the eyes of the committee. If they dropped us from #1 to #5 for a 14 point loss to #3, what do you think they are going to do after a beatdown at the hands of an unranked team? We will be fortunate to be at #10 but more likely #11 or #12. LSU and Georgia will both be top 5 whenever they play. Alabama will be at least #7. We aren’t jumping those teams.
