We let Georgia off the hook. That game deserves a better effort from us and I hope we get a chance to redeem it.The issue with that particular sack UGA had, was that Fant just stood there and let that dude run right by him without even looking that way until it was too late...it was nothing great that Georgia did.
Through 10 games, Vols are giving up 21.9 ppg. I’m told constantly SEC is the toughest conference in the country. So keep that in mind.
I’ve seen many want a new DC. So let’s take a look at some popular names/defensive HC:
- Zach Arnett (Miss St DC) giving up 26.1
- Barry Odom (Ark) giving up 28.9 (second to last in SEC)
- Oklahoma defensive masterminds giving up 29.1
- Baylor defensive masterminds giving up 25.2
- does the ACC even count? Clemson giving up 21.0 ppg
- Utah - always tough - giving up 20.0
- Oregon giving up 27.4
- Mich St defensive masterminds 25.5
For those wanting a new DC, who do you want?
For reference, the SEC:
UGA 11.9
Bama 18.9
UK 20.0
LSU 21.0
Vols 21.9
I definitely think we take a step back next season. I think we’re looking at 8-4/9-3, but I think he will be better than Richardson for sureI don't track everything regarding Milton, I did witness the run out of bounds as the clock expired episode and to say that he looked solid at Michigan is being beyond generous and equivalent to saying JG looked solid his senior year here and his 3 games at Wassu. I watched one game Milton quarterbacked at Michigan and he was just dreadful, and they replaced him a game or two later. All you envision may come to pass, but it will be a Christmas miracle if he simply suddenly starts reading when to hand off, and when to run much less makes critical passing reads. He is a less experienced version of Richardson - don't be shocked if we step back if he is at the helm. I think if he were our qb this year we would have had at least 3 more losses. He is a gifted, remarkable athlete, he has yet to show he can be an above average qb.
Godspeed my friend.I’d like to ask everyone that would to pray for my stepdad, my dad passed when I was 9 months old so he’s been my dad my entire life. They have found a mass on or around his bladder. We are waiting for an appointment in Vanderbilt so they can get a biopsy done. It’s so hard to have any peace in this life anymore. TIA
Hopefully recruits do a little homework on that. Hooker was nowhere near the quarterback he is now when he was in Blacksburg.Recruiting was a big reason CJH let the players keep playing. Programs are negative recruiting UT, claiming UT's success is all about Hooker and not sustainable without him. The coaches planned on playing Milton and letting him throw and run the offense with younger players to show that UT has built an elite program with staying power.
Once Milton was in, they were going to let him have his shot. It was the last home game, and the starters were out. These days, coaches have to recruit against the portal, as well as from it.
Honestly after Tillman returned and got banged up and with the year Hyatt is having AND the fact his brother isn't coming here I'm basically expect he's gone.
I think Ramel Keyton and Bru both can and will return though. And that WR room is full of talent we've really not seen yet, question will be how many decide to transfer out because they want to play.
'23 class has some WR talent too (both sub 11s 100m speed)
Cameron Seldon - 4 star .9484
Nathan Leacock - 4 star .9182
And we'll still have the guys in the '22 class
Kaleb Webb - 4 star .9002 (sub 11s 100m speed)
Cameron Miller - 3 star .8900
Squirrel White - 3 star .8815 (sub 10.7s 100m speed)
Chas Nimrod - 3 star .8804
Almost wish we could play a deeper rotation to try and feed as many of them as possible! We only have 4 guys on the team with 20 or more receptions, it's kind of wild for us to be as high powered of an offense as we are but only 230 receptions on the season.
I expect to see lots of Dylan Sampson these last two games...I'm hoping he has a huge game and gets over 500 rushing yards (needs 236)
