Folks, try not to get sucked into the talking heads narratives. They’re trying to drive ratings and keep things exciting over the next month. That’s their job. But the reality is Tennessee will have a better résumé than any other 1 loss team in America. So as long as the Vols take care of business these next two weeks they will 100% be in the playoffs.

Undefeated TCU and a 1 loss Pac12 champ USC might be ahead of UT in the end. I hope you're right, but I could see it playing out this way unfortunately. We still need some help imo

Yo so I'm watching TV about 1am or so ESPN unfortunately was on.Talkjng to the wife and heard "After thjs performace today Drake Maye should be at the top of the Hesiman vote and he also didn't pad his stats against an inferior opponent to do it either"!I was like wait wtf did that say?Did dude take an underhanded pop shot at us just now?Had to rewind but sure enuff I was right. Legendary team deserves some historical context:



* Career Passing Yards: Hooker is 34 yards away from #8 in all-time passing leaders for Tennessee, 341 yards from passing JG as #7 all-time, and 564 from passing Andy Kelly at #6. Very doable, mostly in the realm of probable with 2 games and a bowl (maybe two postseason games!). Dobbs and the top 5 are out of reach. Hooker will likely jump Francis and JG this week (or get close to it), and jump Kelly at Vandy to move to #6 all-time.

* Single-Season Passing Yards: Hooker currently has 2,888 passing yards in 2022, just outside the top-10 for a single season. This week Hooker will climb from #10 to #5, and we can follow along in real-time as he does it. He is likely to best his own 2021 season (57 yards), Dobbs' 2016 season (58 yards), Peyton's 1995 season (66 yards), Clausen's 2003 (80 yards) and 2001 (81 yards), and Ainge's 2006 (101 yards). He is 399 from #4 and 634 from #3 so it's safe to assume he will finish at least top 3 for this season. Bray's 2012 is within reach and Manning's 1997 would be a pretty crazy high mark to surpass. We'll have to see what he finishes this week with. If he gets 350+ again he's in the chase for #1.



* Career Passing TDs: Hooker needs 15 TD's to beat Bray on the all-time TD leaders list. Would be pretty impressive if he does that.

* Single-Season Passing TDs: Hooker could/should move to top 5 this weekend. He should finish top 3 this season.


* Career Completions: Hooker averages just over 20 completions per game this year. He may or may not edge out Jeff Francis for #8 in career completions, I'm going with yes, but we'll see.

* Single-Season Completions: Hooker has 204 thus far in 2022. Hooker could get into the Top 10 this week (21 completions away from Dobbs' 2016). If he doesn't pass the three in front of him this week, then the Vanderbilt game is where he will really ascend into the next tier (top 4), surpassing Clausen's 2001 (23 away), Kelly's 1991 (24), Clausen's 2003 and Ainge's 2006 (29), Manning's 1996 (39), and Manning's 1995 (40). Obviously the defense we face in the bowl game will dictate how successful he can be there, but he should finish Top 3 after this season (64 from #3 Bray 2012).

Yeah I've kinda decided that, while obviously it's be good for us, it's not absolutely necessary TCU loses. The loser of the Michigan v osu game won't have the resume we do....I don't care if it goes to 5 overtimes.

And if the committee puts that much weight on a single game, then no power 5 School should ever schedule anything close to difficult again. Just schedule to go undefeated and take your chances in the 1 or 2 ching games that matter.

Now we stare at next week vs Tennessee. The vols are at the same point into their "rebuild" and they might be in the playoffs.

Kentucky, South Carolina, and Mizzou need to get it through their thick C-tier heads that we are not them.

We spent way too long dating 4s and it's totally shot our reputation in school.

I love how when we get to garbage time vs anyone it’s basically a given that Milton is going to come in and throw at least one 50+ yard TD. It’s like every defense is just completely unprepared for how far he can throw it.

Single Season Receiving: Hyatt currently has 58. Hyatt needs 19 receptions to hold the single-season record. His productivity is up to him at this point, I'd say. No reason he can't snag another 15-20 receptions by the end of the regular season.



Single-Season Receiving Yards: Jaylin Hyatt will be the single-season receiving yards leader by the end of the regular season (he needs 183 yards). He could do it this weekend while he's in SC, to prove a point or thrill his family/friends that will be in attendance.



Career Receiving TDs: Hyatt should finish top 3, at a minimum.


Sky is the limit for Hyatt!!


Hooker will own the single-season all-purpose yards record (230 yards away) after this season, as early as this weekend, and single-season all-purpose TDs (4 TDs away).

They thought that those times that they beat us meant that they were UP there with us in the SEC echelon. It was really us being DOWN with them. Now that we've collected ourselves and moved back up, they are realizing that they were in the basement the whole time and having meltdowns about it.
