You should, they will be right behind us in the rankings going into the ACC championship. That means they get an extra game against a top 10 team while we watch the SEC championship. Talking heads will be all over this and how winning a P5 conference is so important.

The blueprint is that you have to have very good to elite DBs, who are also disciplined with their assignments.

Very likely that is exactly what will happen.

You want it to be true, because you are a Tennessee fan. But I have yet to see many outside observers that believe a non-division winning Tennessee gets in over a 1-loss PAC-12 champion. Do I think we are the better team? Hell yes. But the committee is not going to leave the west coast out of the playoff. Selection has always been just as much about politics as it has been about who the better team is. If USC is a legitimate option for them, they will pick them. Otherwise, they will lose the entire west coast TV market.

I think he's up there, for sure. Hendon doesn't get nearly the appreciation he should.

Hendon is awesome...I love the guy, but Bryce Young is incredible. If it was not for his excellence and mental fortitude, Alabama would be a four loss team.

Look...I hate Alabama, but that kid is a special player.

We have 2 wins against top 10 teams and played the number 1 team in CFP. OSU Michigan loser will have played one game against a top 10 CFP team and lost…not sure how they can jump ahead of us even with all the OSU love from ESPN.

If USC does get by UCLA, they will also have to pay winner if Oregon v. Utah in Pac12 championship

USC also has to play #20 Notre Dame the week after UCLA and Notre Dame is clicking right now. I’m sure they will be more in the #15ish range if they win next week too.

A resume from a historically significant program that brings ridiculous TV ratings with 2 wins vs Top 10 teams (one of them a beat down on the road) and their only loss is by 14 on the road to the obvious #1 team.... they will not penalize a resume that is obviously one of the top 4 teams simply because the SEC East and West were uneven this season. The CFP Committee knows that would make them look foolish.

UCLA was the undefeated team we were going to play iirc, but they choked and lost their last game.

If he had been dealing with the flu all week but was finally fever free, then he could be around the team but sit out the game to rest. No way he would be 100% in that scenario. The flu is hitting a lot of teams right now.

Got on here this morning and was 80 pages behind so one of the few times I've skipped a lot of pages.

Two things some of you are borderline schizo, entertaining but crazy none the less. Secondly BigOrangeTrain and BelieveTheHeup need to have a thread just between the two of them!

We just won 66 - 24 and all they want to talk about is whether the does are worse under Martinez??

I’m not saying I disagree that our resume would be better. It is and it would be. But, the Committee is comprised of humans and not computers. Humans have biases and are irrational. There is a strong disdain for the SEC and how many years we have seen 2 SEC teams in the playoffs. USC is a historic program that would draw big TV numbers and keep the West Coast market engaged in the playoffs. If USC runs the table, I just can’t see them being left out, even if I think we are the better team with the better resume. Internal politics will keep them in. I would love love love to be proven wrong, but it just feels like that is exactly what will happen, which is why I am rooting hard for the Bruins next week.

Had a feeling before the game that Washington was going to win. Their losses were all close. Glad they won. Everyone was saying that Oregon was the Pac-12’s only shot at a playoff team. Now that they lost, posters on here are saying USC will jump us. Same team that lost to Utah who lost to Florida… Were in if we win out. ACC is out because it’s a terrible conference and everyone has a loss.
