We played A WALKON at corner for a series against Bama and against UT Martin. We’re not consistently playing an entire defensive backfield of walkons though. Our secondary has been garbage all season though. If they were just getting constantly burnt in coverage it would be one thing, but they can’t play with the ball in the air to save their lives they take bad angles on defending out routes when they’re within closing distance. Sure they may not be the most talented, but they struggle in other aspects that decent coaching can fix

We have guys playing out of position all over the secondary. Are they playing great? No. I’m not laying that at Martinez’s feet until he’s been here long enough to establish some depth.

USC winning out doesn't really mean much of anything now that UCLA lost last night. They are irrelevant. We just need to take care of business now. I'll be buying playoff tickets after we run over USCjr.

Wins over UCLA (prob gonna be ranked in 20's now) and ND (still not too impressive) then they would prob play Washington (I think) in the Pac 12 ship, still not that impressive. Would have been better for them for Oregon and UCLA to win, would have given them potentially two top 10 wins

Media would push hard to get USC in over us unfortunately. It what it is. Deserving? Lol no. But they would

I don’t want USC & Clemson in the conversation though because of their brands. So I want them both to lose again.

I watched the Oregon game. Did TCU look like they were the reason Texas was so bad on offense, or was Texas just that bad?

TCU contained the run well, but if Ewers had played at least competently, it would have been a different ballgame.

Does anyone know how bowl slotting works if we DON’T get into the playoff? I’m just wondering if there’s a scenario where LSU gets slotted in over Tennessee for the Sugar Bowl as the SEC runner-up even though we won head-to-head, or whether the Sugar Bowl is essentially the floor if we win out.

We were bypassed in 2004 and 2007.

I don't like Danny, but this is the right take. TCU has played a better schedule than Michigan and Ohio State.

UCLA goes down. Don’t see USC winning out especially Dye done for the year. That will eliminate the Pac12

The last 2 playoff spots gonna come down to Tcu, UM/Osu, Vols maybe a 1 loss ACC winner but I doubt it and there’s no way they put in 3 SEC teams or LSU over us.

They are at UCLA next week. Chip needs get the Bruins hyped because that’s their national championship game now.

LSU would beat UNC and Clemson. USC worries me the most: LA, big brand, portal U, Riley villian storyline.

Someone asked if Joe Milton would be better than Hendon. I want to see Joe make those sideline comeback routes and hit those TE routes out in the flat. Hendon has had some of the best timing and placement of those routes that we’ve not seen in a long time. He’s so impressive. Joe will definitely rack up more running yards and probably passing yards. IMO key next year will be can we snag an elite RB and some OL reinforcement to give him time so SQUIRRRRREL!!! can get behind the defense. Our offense will look different next year to fit his skillset.

Thanks for posting. Loved the bit about SCjr being drug of choice. Hopefully their stadium half filled with Vol fans. Lord know I have been there last 15yrs as a UT fan.
