Whoever thinks we will have a tough time skull dragging our next three opponents….

⬅️ there’s the door.

We just played our worst game against the best defense in the country and Kirby literally said they’ve been practicing for UT all off season and some this season. Probably why they’ve played down to some of their opponents levels. Debatable, but possible. Still, a huge learning curve and teaching game for the players AND coaches (including CJH). We are back in Neyland and we will be ready to lay down another 50 🍔 this coming weekend.

Go Vols.

We had plays over the middle. In every instance, the defender closed the gap instantly and made a sure tackle. We normally rely on 5 to 7 yard completions to turn into at least 10 to 15 yard gains. Saturday there were basically zero yards after the catch. Phenomenal defensive speed and tackling. that was a well coached D

Not sure which plays you are referring to but just about all of the plays over the middle we’re positive yardage basically our only highlights from that game other than our late TD…

I can't remember where I heard it but Kirby and Muschamp were studying Tennessee's rise and have been scheming for the matchup for several weeks, particularly during the Vandy and Bye weeks. Probably Florida too.

I just hate that I felt like we stopped ourselves more than Georgia's defense stopped us.

We get the fumble recovery. 7 yards to Hyatt, 5 yards to Tillman, false start (1st & 15 on UGA 40), 6 yards to Tillman, 4 yards to Hyatt, false start (3rd and 10 on UGA 35), 5 yard to Fant and a FG. Georgia drives it 80 yards in 5 plays after one deep throw and scores a TD.

Next possession. 6 yards to Warren, 6 yards to Warren, false start (1st and 15 on own 37), 3 yards by Small, 6 yards by Wright, incomplete to Hyatt (3rd and 6 on own 41) Punt. Georgia drive is a 3 and out, but they bury us inside the 1 with a 75 yard punt. We do nothing give it back to them on our 37 and they throw the TD.

Next possession (14-3). 11 yds by Wright, 2 yds by Hooker, 3 yds by Wright, incomplete pass to Hyatt (3rd & 5) we punt it to Georgia's 21, but Wright runs into return man and they start the drive on their 36 instead march down the field in 6 plays after McIntosh reception of 49 on a wheel route and score again.

Next possession (21-3). 11 plays and 56 yards, have to settle for a FG. Georgia defense is looking tired as they get called twice for holding (and both should have been PIs) we get it to their 9 on a 3rd and 2, back to back false starts. 3rd and 12 and Fant drops one that that could have given us a shot to go for it on 4th

Hold Georgia to a Punt.

Next Possession (21-6) 6 plays and 30 yards. 1st & 10 on UGA 39 and Hooker forces it to Tillman in single coverage for the INT. Georgia marches 12 plays and 78 yards to kick a FG going into half.

That's 3 drives and we only managed 6 points. If we score 14 or 17 in the 1st half it's a different game coming out of the locker room I think.

Outta half we are marching, 1st and 10 on UGA 41 and Hooker is sacked, then a run for 2 by Wright and on 3rd and long Hooker is sacked again. Taking us back to the 50 and a punt.

Georgia marches and scores a FG to go up 24-6...

Next possession 14 plays for 43 yards and turnover on downs. illegal formation to open drive (still not sure what was illegal). And the drive derails after we get to the UGA 20 and it's 1st and 10. Wright runs for 3, then a sack, then a false star, then a sack, then a false start, then a sack on 4th down (but Georgia grabbed the face mask). The next 4 plays aren't good though two incompletions to Bru and short run by Hooker and another sack.

I mean if we just execute...don't make the silly pre-snap mistakes and don't drop good throws and it's a totally different game (we may still lose, but it'd be closer). For some reason Hooker zoned in on Tillman at stretches something he hadn't been doing at all. Tillman wasn't always double covered or anything, but he rarely had true man coverage and when he did he was still facing their best DB in Ringo.

Trash take by that guy. Bama players have been getting taken care of for years.

He's indirectly challenging the players. Maybe NIL has something to do with it for some guys individually. The larger problem is that their coaching on offense is atrocious, and their defensive coaching has taken a nose dive. Also, Georgia has eaten into or outright defeated Bama 1v1 for guys that they wanted, particularly on defense. Georgia winning the recruiting war on the whole vs Bama is finally starting to show.

Recruiting, coaching, and development taking their toll more than players finally getting legally paid.

Man you gotta let this one go

I want to believe it is a much better game at a neutral field with game film for Heupel and company to study. Really want a rematch in the playoffs.

I want a rematch against UGA. That game seems like a fluke. We haven't looked that bad since Heup took over. I'm not saying we win and the talent gap is still going to be obvious, but i don't believe they are THAT much better than us. I want a rematch for all the marbles
I don't think so, mane. I think GA would have the exact same game plan on defense. I believe with everything in me that Kirby told his DBs that they better tackle our WRs before letting them run wide open for TDs. And I don't know how extra time to prepare is going to help our OL stop their DL.

As for their offense, it's not great and it doesn't have to be. And I think they could have scored more against us if they wanted to. Kirby is a prick, and he doesn't give two sh!ts what anyone thinks about him. So when he, in his postgame press conference, talked about how physical we are on offense and how they weren't going to give up anything easy on defense, I truly think he respects our offense and just wanted to get that game over with as soon as possible.

All that being said, if our only option for getting into the playoff means that we have to play them again, bring 'em on.

Bama: 41.8 ppg
Georgia: 40.1 ppg
LSU: 34.8 ppg
Florida: 31.2 ppg

That's the 4 best offenses we've faced in the SEC. Gave up 28.8 ppg to them (didn't count Bama's defensive TD)

Georgia: 10.8 pa
Bama: 18.3 pa
Kentucky: 19.6 pa
LSU: 22.2 pa

That's the 4 best defenses we've faced in the SEC. Scored 37.3 ppg on them.

I sure as **** ain't worried about

Missouri: 23.1 ppg & 23.1 pa
USC Jr: 31.1 ppg & 24.9 pa
Vandy: 26.7 ppg & 36.8 pa

I'll be shocked if we give up more than 24 to any of them and score less than 35 on any of 'em.

No his defense did!…even after all of our f*** ups during that game he only managed to get 27 points on a depleted thin defense who’s ranked in the 100 hundreds…consider me not impressed..😂😂 it’s a fact that he’s had the luxury of stacked OL protection and a stacked defense to save his ass from lack of offense production…
He had to make the plays and he did. There were no picks sixes in this game. Our defense manned up in the second half but too little too late. He outplayed our QB. Using his LUXURIES effectively is not a negative.
