LSU has a 0% chance of making it, even with winning SEC championship. They won’t put a 2 loss team in with all these 1 loss teams out there with great resumes.
Don't underestimate the CFP committee. You get a lot of credit for late season wins and punishment for late season losses. LSU would have wins over Ole Miss, Alabama, and Georgia in that scenario. That would be the best resume of wins in the country, and they are not likely to keep the SEC champion out of the playoffs.

This is where I am. I have held strongly to my preseason expectation of an 8-4 regular season. We've achieved it, and I'm quite happy. We have a chance to significantly exceed that expectation, and maybe even back door our way into the college football playoff. That's unreal. I'm stoked.

Yesterday's performance stunk, but I don't think anyone was beating UGA on Saturday in that environment. They just whipped us fair and square. It's exceedingly rare to go undefeated, and yesterday's environment is the reason why.
If it hadn't have been for the crowd and atmosphere, we would not have beaten Bama. They were discombobulated terribly most of the 1st half, and fought hard to play catch up and make it a game.

It was the same for UT at UGA. That atmosphere and bad breaks put UT out of their strengths. False starts kept us behind the chains and off schedule. Playing backed up to our EZ in that atmosphere... And we just didn't have it in us to fight back and overcome in the 2nd half.

I'd be interested to see how UT stacks up if we get a rematch on neutral field in playoff.

If OSU, and specifically Stroud, doesn’t play well against Michigan and loses than Hooker still has a good shot at Heisman. Stroud still has one really tough test left with that MICH gane. Hooker should, hopefully, be able to pad some stats. If Michigan won it would also most likely mean neither Stroud or Hooker are getting to the conference championship for their conferences.

I jokingly said a month ago I fully expect Hooker to finish runner-up to Blake Corum. Getting closer to reality.

I'm just not done processing the loss. I agree dwelling on it would not be ideal.
Let me help you with the pain. I bought a homeless dude some food, a toothbrush, some toothpaste and baby wipes today. He brimmed with tears of thanksgiving like he'd won the lottery and told me some of the story of how he got where he's at.

Go out and create some connections like that. It'll help dull the pain of college kids losing a game.

Point taken.

So many in here avoiding how deflating this loss is. Not saying we can't win-out and have a great season. Hooker's goal was the Championship game in Atlanta. Dream 15-0 season gone. These 2 storylines are off the table plus losing just plain hurts. Miss. St. and UK aren't beating UGA. Gotta stand and dust-off Vols. Now the tests of character come. It's a game, I know. But holding the high ground is what we all want to see.
It is not whether you win or lose…. It’s how you respond… if Hooker is a true champion then he will respond starting this weekend…. A lot of our fans could learn that lesson.

I just want Hooker to Tebow-cry, promise that nobody will outwork him, and then go win a championship.

So basically to make the CFP we need Georgia to win out, an Ole Miss 1 loss SEC champ or a 2 loss SEC Champ with a win over Georgia leaves us out. I don’t think Georgia will lose in Atlanta to Ole Miss or LSU, but just saying the only way we are 100% out is if Georgia is 12-1 and the SEC West wins the title.

But assuming Big 10 Champion & Georgia are undefeated we will likely be a 3 seed if TCU loses.

I will feel better about us getting in if USC, Oregon, AND UCLA all have 2 losses. Don’t think a 2 loss Pac12 team gets in over us.

ACC is down this year, don’t think Clemson or UNC will have the resume to put us out. And with the viewership numbers we pull the best thing for the CFP is us playing in it. With a win getting a potential rematch with Georgia.

Zero people in August had us at 8-1, the expectations grew because of the team success.

I am only deflating because we didn’t put our best foot forward, but I am also encouraged knowing Georgia at home with everything that went bad for us only managed a 14 point win.

There is more to this than just football. People and committee members for the West Coast want a seat at the table. They DO NOT want 2 SEC teams again. The BIG 10 does not want 2 SEC reams again and the TV people don't want it either unless it was Ala. It sucks but we had a great chance and if we were to make to the playoffs A LOT of things have to fall in place. Watch how the voting goes this week, if we are any lower than 5 or 6 that should tell you how the voters and coaches think. We are Not the most loved fan base for MANY reasons and the way those in power can show that is with a vote. Watch where we get voted in the polls, that will show what they think of us.
So...we play three top 10 ten teams..lose only to one of them (the one that is the defending NC and has had 7 strait years of top 3 classes, and is now the undisputed #1 team)..on the road, after destroying the #8 team on the road, and we are out of the playoffs for sure because the Pansy Athletic Conference champion will get pissed off?

That doesn't make sense at all....but...Tennessee...so yeah that is probably what will happen.

Not what I am saying. Saying it's time to acknowledge the hit, learn from the cost, shake it off, and move forward to regain momentum.

I think the team's experiences last year will help us finish this season strong.

After a very humbling loss on the road last year to Florida, we came out and smoked Mizzou and South Carolina.
