I don't see it happening, but doesn't a two loss LSU winning the sec setup the nightmare scenario.

LSU would get in the playoffs by winning the SEC, right? GA with one loss might get in. No way they put a 3rd SEC team in the playoffs.

A 2 loss team has never made the CFB. If we win out, I don’t see a 2 loss SEC champion that got trounced, at home, by the another SEC playoff contender who only has 1 loss. It would be a crazy decision.

No way in hell a 2 loss LSU team gets in above a one loss Vols team that trounced them in Death Valley, even if they beat UGA in the SEC championship (which they won’t)

Because the 3 Pac-12 teams they still have to play and beat will potentially all 3 be top 25 teams when they face off. Then they'll get another top 25 win in their conference title game.

Ending with as many top 25 wins as us (or close) and they'll be their conference champ. Plus losing to the best team in game 1 and then winning 12 straight and your conference will be better received than us losing in game 9 and not playing in conference title game.

We need TCU to lose (hopefully twice) and we need the PAC-12 champion to be a 2 loss team.

Problem is I have more faith they'd pick us over Oregon than a 1-loss Pac12 champ USC. They'd froth at the mouth for an opportunity to throw USC in.

Ok. So let’s say Lsu wins out and beats Uga… what happens?

No way they keep the SEC champion out of the playoffs, so it would come down to us and UGA, and UGA will get in because they beat the crap out of us.

We need them to win out to get a shot.

Well if I had to bet. Our playoff chances are probably better than they were entering today.. Got two defeats we really needed now need a few more that are more likely to really lock it up. Oh and we gotta crush Missouri, Shane and Vandy… can’t be sleeping.

Ultimately I don't want the 4th spot between us and a 1 loss power 5 conference champion (Pac-12, ACC, Big 12).

The good news is none of the Pac-12 teams got an easy road to finish with just 1 loss since all of them have already lost once and still have tough games left.
ACC I don't think Clemson or UNC have better resumes, but if both could drop another game I'd be all for it.

Either way we just focus on the 3 games we play, be the 2nd best team in the SEC and see how things go.

I’m sorry, but losing is never the “best case” scenario. Winning today and Alabama and Clemson losing would have been best case scenario. Losing ain’t it.

I agree. I'm not saying they're worthy. I'm saying I don't trust the committee with the brand.

If TCU was Texas, OU, USC, etc they'd not be getting stubbed with the same light schedule. Its brand bias.

So this is assuming TCU is undefeated, because the committee already doesn’t value them. They won’t get in with 1 loss, conference championship or not. So in that case, I would swap UT and TCU in the final rankings.

Interesting you have Michigan over OSU. I don’t disagree honestly. OSU has looked destined to the drop a game the last two weeks.
