The fact is that the scheme was actually sound...we did not execute that scheme this time. Against Pitt we hit a few of those to get to 27, we did not do that this time.

It is amazing what a massive difference those plays make in perception.

This is therefore a fact you can state with certainty...IF..we clean up OL penalties and missed RB blocks, and Hooker hits those same passes that he has at a high level all year..we could beat them.

I like our chances on a neutral field. We need to get in and see

We have a clap for snapping the ball, so it’s not like we rely on a cadence. We also signal plays in. Noise can affect concentration, though.

I’m enjoying the games on tonight. Rooting hard for the shamrocks and Bayou Bengals. Not down on the loss at all. Love seeing the positivity coming from UT postgame. They’ll be back strong next week. And we have a lot to play for. As a fan, I still find it surreal that we’re 8-1 at this point.

People tweeting about Sanford didn’t lose us the game. That narrative is dumb. What isn’t dumb though is that our coaches apparently didn’t prepare our players for it. We should have been prepared for the noise. If it really was that much of a hindrance, that sucks.

You can’t really prepare for crowd noise. This game is totally different at a neutral site imo and is much different regardless of all the things that didn’t go our way ( Hooker missing on some deep balls) etc. This was probably the loudest Sanford has ever been and I’ll be the first to say it, It was the BIGGEST reason we lost this game. We got totally dominated and still only lost by 14. Erik Ainges Dumbass rilling up their fan base didn’t help.

It’s always the same. Hooker is taught to run if numbers are favorable in the box, go deep if one on one and no help over the top, or short passes if they play deep. Didn’t run any trick plays, but the general offensive play calling was the same.

If they don’t have Georgia level talent then knowing and doing is a totally different animal.
Our next 3 opponents don’t have near the talent level to implement said blueprint

Not sure what he was watching Bc the play calling was pretty conservative and safe. Just like the players, the coaches didn’t bring it either. Played football for about 4 hours and maybe tried to really challenge them 3 times. Also have to run the ball better against that scheme to make our offense work. They would have had to change the whole look if we were a real threat running it.

Going back over the game and 2 plays stand out.

1. Stetson Bennett running it in on a 3rd and 13 when our DB had him in the backfield. Don’t dive at his ankles, chase him down and tackle.
2. The punt.

Would love a rematch and we just might get that shot. Nuetral field and it’s tough to beat the same team twice in one season. Hype/Golesh could be a bit more flexible with their in game O philosophy though. Not sure why we didn’t send or hit any backs in the flats. With man coverage I like Wright 1v1 against most any LB… There are also things they could have done to help with the man coverage such as rub routes which means not stacking receivers 90% of the time… Easy to back seat drive though…
