Neither did I but even with how god awful we looked we still only lost by 14
Their offense took the second half off...but the fact is that our defense just doesn't have the elite horses yet to impose a defensive stalemate when the offense has an off game.

I hate this for Hendon more than anybody...the poor man is probably blaming himself for this and he knows the Heisman was right there in his grasp.

That has to suck for him and I hope he doesn’t get too down on himself.

UGA lost to Bama by 17 points in the SECCG last season. They still made it in as a one loss team. They won the natty.

We lost to UGA by 14 points and could still make it in if Bama loses twice if we get some help in other conferences which seems to happen every year.

A great deal to play for and close the season out well.
That second UGA/Bama game wouldve been a lot different if literally all of Bama's receivers were hurt. People seem to forget that Bama was playing backups in the NC game.

I think he'll be alright. Kid has a good head on his shoulders and a great group of coaches that'll make sure he stays focused

I mean, we beat Alabama 52-49. We beat LSU 40-13. And it’s like people have forgotten that. We had a bad game. It happens
their defense is better than i gave them credit for and of course we picked today to lay an egg. it happens, we aren't the team that showed up today, i really hope we get another shot at them this year. beating the bammers in year 2 the way we did and killing lsu is unbelievable. still great to be VOL.

Earlier this week, I said that Kirby was going to play our WRs with man coverage instead of zone. It looked to me like that is exactly what he did. This nullifies all the switches we have been exploiting where one DB lets a guy go because he knows there is a safety that will pick him up. Bottom line is that he took away our most successful plays that we have been using all year. I have been worried all along that a coach would figure out how to beat our system. Now everyone else will do the same by watching the film of today's game. Most other teams don't have the athletes that Georgia has, but our coaches might as well start preparing for how to adjust.
Hooker missed 3-4 passes...that is what stopped us along with a million OL penalties.

Narduzzi did the same thing and he just didn't get away with as much. That gameplan depends on Hooker having an off game period...they got it today.

Nothing has changed from what the expectations should be. We got humbled today by a really good football team. I would rather have an off game and lose to the defending NC than stumble against KY or Mizzou.

Now we get to see how getting punched in the mouth affects this team. Do they get back to work and come hungry next week? I think they will and I still see 11-1 with playoff talk in our future.

Tough loss but credit to UGA and their home crowd. They brought the binness today.

Its been at least 15 years since UT has been in the nations spot light. So let's give these guys a break. They brought us to that level and they had a bad night against a team that that has so much experience in big games. Just get us a couple more strong classes and play in these types again and I bet the results will look so much different. GBO!!

If folks are going to compare Heup to Spurrier, then Heup has to be willing to do what Spurrier did to shake things up. Stand your starting QB on the sideline beside you and tell him to observe while the two of you discuss it all.

Play Milton for a series or two. Then reinsert Hooker. Both benefit from it.

Our fans & the media got too cocky. One reason I tried to keep expectations grounded.

Kirby has a better defense the last few years than Saban, and this year Bama didn't have the same level OL and WR group that they normally have. We also got them at home and they (Bama) were the team that came out flat.

We came out flat against Georgia and that stadium will likely NEVER be that hyped for a game again.

But really was a closer game than it looked.

52 yard deep ball to Arian Smith (leads to a TD)
37 yard TD to McConkey
49 yard wheel route to McIntosh (leads to a TD)

That was all their offense really did. But they did all that in the first half and having that lead allowed them to just play keep away in the 2nd half.
