Any SEC team can make the same money simply by winning. Georgia brought the money last year. We could be the ones bringing the money this year. Bama is not alone in filling the conference coffers. It's past time they stopped getting preferential treatment.
Why are you trying to convince me? Lol. Seriously, I hope they are starting to believe they don’t have to have AL.

Alabama was the favorite and they're fans are still crying about the backdooring the refs gave them.

That's because they're not used to evenly called games. In a sense, they're not exactly wrong. They didn't do anything different from every other game they played, especially those games against us. The refs just decided to call some of the things they tend to overlook when Bama plays and overlook some things they tend to hammer us with. I've seen us finally get some of those benefits (not sure how to feel about it because we've been on the other side of it for so long) but it's shocking the things we have been able to do (that most OTHER teams have been able to do) this year without getting called. Obvious holding though against a team that most people consider good is going to get called - the Gumps are lucky they didn't get called even more as undisciplined as they've been this year.

I think we are simply the more disciplined team on the field.

It’s a bit of a mirage unfortunately. We have the 10th most penalty yards in CFB and have had more penalty yards than the other team in 6 out of 8 games we have played this year.

I think the reason why it seems otherwise is because when it’s mattered, we haven’t had bad penalties in big moments. We’ve had them, but they just don’t stick out.

I am sometimes jealous of you that live in the state of Tennessee while I live in Alabama……….that is until I get to go to my sons soccer game wearing a Tennessee hat and polo and the biggest **** eating grin I could possibly have. Every bammer that looks at me I can feel their great angst within and it just makes the smile bigger.

I think this is true, but for the home team, not favored. There will be a couple of bogus calls go against us Saturday, just got to prepare for it.

I think it depends. If it's close then it's a home team thing but situations like against OM and Pitt at home we were not favored and we weren't supposed to be giving either team a game and so I think that's where bias can swing. Officials (along with every other person who paid attention to college football) expected both Pitt and OM to win those games and they were favored to do so and that somewhat overrode home field advantage.

It's a bit like when cops, parents, and/or teachers etc. have to decide who to give the benefit of the doubt to. They usually give it to whoever they think (or know) is most likely the innocent party. They're not always right but if you have a rep as the good kid/good neighbor etc. and have a dispute with someone who has either a bad rep or neutral rep, you'll often get that initial bias for you even when you're wrong.

On the field I think that translates to going into the game if everyone expects team A to win and team B has been miserable for 15 years then team A is going to get some judgment calls even if the crowd is with team B. If the teams were more or less equal then I think the bias swings closer to the home team. (I hope that makes sense - not that you have to agree but that hopefully I explained myself).

If any of you all don't think that Alabama hates Tennessee's guts and will do anything to keep us down, then you're not paying attention. Bama/Saban has the SEC/Sankey in it's pockets and will go to new lows to make sure we don't make the playoffs or win the SEC Championship. We are capable of winning all of our remaining games but I'm worried the refs and the replay crew will try and trip us up tomorrow, especially since we're the road team. The 1st quarter of the KY game last week had some questionable calls but the refs backed off when it became apparent that KY had no chance against us.

I also believe Bama has people looking for any dirt possible on Josh Heupel and this coaching staff.

I hope Danny White is doing everything in his power to make sure we have fairly officiated games from here on out. Especially tomorrow.

The SEC is a corrupt organization and needs to be cleaned out and moved out of the state of Alabama.

I’m 31, and cannot remember being this excited or nervous about a Tennessee football game.
Buckle up, us older fans remember. This is what we’ve talked about how we felt when we mattered in the CFB world. Enjoy it and bring your children up in it. Just enjoy that feeling.
