Did Hadden play/get hurt (again) yesterday? I was distracted by children & looked up at Jumbotron to see what I thought was #5 jersey being helped off the field? About had a panic attack until I saw Hooker, then wondered about Hadden, but thought he wasn't playing. Maybe it was a double digit # ending in 5.
8 got hurt at one point. Hadden was out.

That would actually be a better way to do it than simply basing it on what they were ranked at the time.
I've thought about both ways because I've had to look on different websites to find each method.

Simply, there's no perfect way. Teams change, get worse, better, lose players, gain players.

But it does seem silly to punish a team for knocking a team out of the top 25. That said, it could also be silly to base wins/losses in week 1 when it's just preseason rankings.

Afaik the committee considers a both of bit, but they also don't use an arbitrary cutoff such as the top 25. I mean, clearly top 26-40 wins should mean more than ~top 100 wins and such. It's all on a spectrum, which things like SoS should encapsulate. I wonder if they also use a model such as "quadrants" in March Madness.

McElroy was saying it the other day

He said “ I can’t talk football with people who keep comparing Miss St and Tenn offenses” they are nothing alike. One is just quick hitter short passes and a classic air raid. The other is the Baylor offense with its own little twist. It’s a big time vertical attack and run heavy between the tackles. One is slow pace, the other is warp speed. And that’s the beginning of their differences. I could keep going. And honestly Heup is putting a lot more layers to it. Using a ton of formations, motions and really using a lot of stuff from the Chiefs playbook.

So when you hear ppl compare them like they are similar you automatically know that person does not know football at all.
100% all this.

Also reminds me of folks that used to mistake read-option and RPO. Or people that think Hype's offense needs a running qb or is Butch's read-option 😅...like yeah Drew Lock and Landry Jones were real barnburners 😅

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

Projection: No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 4 Tennessee
SEC haters are not going to like this one, but here it is. Two of the best teams in the country could wind up meeting twice this season if all goes according to plan for both. Tennessee travels to Athens on Nov. 5 in a showdown expected to decide the SEC East. The loser of that game, with a likely 11-1 finish, will then hope for the best in terms of playoff seeding unless TCU goes unbeaten and wins the Big 12. That would lead to chaos for every team involved in the mix.

I vote for undefeated Tennessee and TCU just wrecking the entire thing.
