Arnett is a good DC. However he's also working with a little but more than what Banks has right now.
Yeah that’s why I’m holding out hope on Banks. Once we get more talent infused (especially on the back end) then we can probably have a much better picture of what type of DC he is.

This is what Bama players get away with outside of Alabama when it's filmed for the world to see.

Imagine what behaviors they get away with in Tuscaloosa and on campus.
who could ever forget what the judge said to 2 BAMA starters when they were arrested for stolen weapons and drug charges? 🙄
“I want to emphasize once again that the main reason I’m doing this is that I refuse to ruin the lives of two young men who have spent their adolescence and teenage years, working and sweating, while we were all in the air conditioning.”

Tennessee now has a big lead in Yards per game. And is now #1 in PPG with 50. Run defense passed is now top 10 in the country and behind only Uga in the SEC

Also. . . through 7 game we have amassed 4,002 total yards of offense, averaging 571.7 per game.

2,582 total passing yards.
368.9 yards passing per game.

1,420 total rushing yards.
202.9 yards rushing per game.

With a total of 351 points, we have scored 58 more points than the 2nd place team.

We are averaging 50.1 points per game.

Suspension at the very least. Now let me ask you a question. If it had been one of our players that did that would it make you proud to have someone like that on our team? I know fans are not supposed to rush the field but it happened. But there he was in all his padding and he was frightened by a female fan from the opposing team?
If Jauan Jennings had done the exact same thing Burton did, the SEC would force a suspension. It would be talked about ad nauseam on national media. They'd say he's just a thug with a history of bad behavior. How he'd been kicked off the team by Brady Hoke and John Currie. Etc. On draft day they'd take over the greatest moment of his life to only talk about his behavior and the time he hit a fan in the face in frustration.

And I'd still support him being suspended for at least a game, though I'd hate the rhetoric that came from it.

Burton gets nothing. National media defends him or stays silent. Nevermind that he's been in anger management therapy for a while. And on draft day I'd put good money down that this won't get brought up - IF the woman doesn't press charges and White doesn't pressure the SEC.

I’m not miserable nor am I uneducated like a lot of posters here want to label me. I understand, get out with a win, with no injuries, let younger kids play, let walk-ons play, etc.

Why did we not have more sacks than 1 while starters were in? And why not sub in backups with starters, instead of just throwing all backup in at one time? On the flip side, why not allow the offense to run like normal when the backups were in? Yeah they were on the field but not really to play and get better, but to just run the clock and get through the game. That doesn’t make them better.

I’m happy with this team and stoked to be 7-0. I was only trying to point out a few, what I believe to be flaws, that needed to be worked on, if we are in fact going to make a run for the championship.

Go D*** VOLS!!!

I know you didn’t say I did, but I want to solidify the fact that I did it say you were uneducated, nor do I have any reason to suspect you are.

I think the starters didn’t have more than 1 sack cause they weren’t really trying for sacks. I don’t think we ever rushed more than 5 (could be wrong, as I’m getting old and my memory is not what it used to be) and each time we did, he was flushed out of the pocket. I’ll bet our defensive game plan was to stop them from scoring. Just that. We did allow one TD early, but that was it.

Also, I think we were running our normal offense (mostly), it’s just that we have a significant drop in our ability to do that with our backups. Especially at QB. We went from our second string to our fourth string very quickly due to Jackson’s injury.

I, too, am happy with this team and will echo you with a Go D*** VOLS!!!, my friend.

Well since we had a guy a couple of years back that had a misdemeanor assault a couple years back from threatening to hit a female…. Shoot the school up…. Torr a gate off its hinges…. He also had a restraining order for supposedly being physical against another female… our hands are hardly clean….. I don’t for a second thing that Burton was scared…. He was frustrated and pissed…. He lashed out at a Tennessee fan.
Beast, you can't seriously be using that situation to compare...

Bryce Thompson was suspended indefinitely and immediately. He missed a month of practice and at least 3 games. The University set up a program and path for him to return, just like they did for Jeremy Banks and Jauan. The YWCA on Knoxville praised UT and UT athletics for how they handled that situation and how they took domestic assault seriously. For everything Jeremy Pruitt flubbed, handling misbehaving players was a bright spot. He took things seriously and set up avenues for them to earn redemption.

Having players misbehave isn't necessarily the problem. The problem is how you handle it. Burton isn't even getting a slap on the wrist.

IDGAS about this situation…. I’m not discussing it any further…. Focus more on football.

What I am saying is they won't let us win. I hope I am wrong, but I think we start getting the screw job against Kentucky and especially UGA. They want us to be good, but they do NOT want us in the SEC championship or Playoffs.

I hope it is just paranoia, but yesterday's events triggered it.

I hope I am wrong. This team really deserves a fair shake.
I agree with you. They (SEC officials and officiating crews)will not allow Tennessee to beat Alabama again this year.Wanna find out who the darlings of the SEC and the rest of college football are?Stay tuned !

This is not to build a narrative. I am honestly puzzled at what I see.

Other than punter, why is one position group decimated by injuries and has poor performance? All of the other position groups are solid to really good. Is it just bad luck? Is it S&C issues? Is it underperforming talent? Is it coaching and development? Is it a mixture?

All we need is adequate, middle of the pack performance on the back end. Will it get there by UGA?
I should copy and paste it at this point. The DBs are the lowest rated position group, by rankings, on the entire team. And its not even close. Tank is the only 4 star in the group (using transfer rankings for Turnage). The rest are mid to low 3 stars. One year I think Pruitt only brought in 2 defensive backs. Since like 2017/2018 only four 4stars (Tank, Alontae, Bryce Thompson, Key Lawrence). 2 are in the league, 1 transferred.

I think they're getting injured more because there's a lack of quality depth and they're getting over exerted during games running all over the field. In contrast the DL has depth for a consistent rotation and of course they don't run as far.

Good grief….. the SEC is not out to get us.

Sadly you’re exactly right.I do hope we’re proven wrong and if we are I’ll gladly admit it.
