'22 Recruiting Forum: Official Alabama Pregame/Game Thread

That tweet about new goal posts being constructed was a fake. However, I would like to see them tore down and thrown in the river but bama being ranked #3 instead of #1 takes some of the fun out of storming the field. I suggested just smoke cigars in the stands like they did last year.... act like it ain't no big deal.

BTW,
Richard G. West is the new....

Rushing the field is for FCS teams that beat a top 25 team on the road. I don't want to give the bammers the satisfaction of them thinking us beating them will be some sort of fluke, when it is actually going to be the norm going forward.

I'm sorry man but if we beat Alabama at home to end a 15 year streak and become a playoff top 4 ranked team, the fans are going to engulf that entire field in about 2.3 seconds. not commenting on if we should or not but you know it will happen.

Is there a chance we roll them like LSU? I mean, they haven't looked good at all this year as you said. Are we better than Texas? Certainly without Ewers we are. Are we better than A&M? Absolutely.
kind of like LSU, we'd need Bama to help. going 0fer on 4th downs, a couple turnovers....i mean, they do that and we can jump on 'em. if they play clean, i think the game looks more like FL, and pitt to a lesser degree. but we're not blowing out bama, unless they continue to make mistakes....

so here's to " if it's bad for them, it's good for us"!

I think we could get out to a 21-0 lead, but I fully expect Bama to come back and make it a game, same if we get down a score or two. Would love to just straight roll them up and smoke'em 45-6

I want to see the goal posts go down! Please Lord Grant us all our wish! It’s been over 15 years!

No. That tells the bammers that beating them is likely a fluke or one time event. In reality it is going to be standard operating procedure to whip them up one side and down the other for the foreseeable future. Don't give them any hint that they will be able to beat us any time in the near future.

They we're pretty excited beating us in 2009.

on the one hand, i agree with this. don't give them the satisfaction.

on the other....yeah, if we win, they're going down. lol.

@nicksjuzunk we're still waiting on your score prediction this week, come on man get with it
@Bassmaster_Vol calked you a chicken just saying

We can't have a game thread without a final score prediction..... @nicksjuzunk's thread is incomplete and threatens our entire season!!! I, @Glitch, am going to save not only bammer week, but the entire undefeated season. I am going to make a real game thread so that we can go into this weekend with confidence and swagger! I am doing this for the people, whether they know they need it or not.

Those things are lethal. Can't believe you'd suggest such extreme measures. What if he did "smoke a J" and it killed him? How would you feel about that?

People throwing around advice to do the marijuanas all willy nilly without regard for life or innocent bystanders. Shameful

Fans attending (and watching) should be tazed if they start spouting negativity.. We never considered being in the position of possibly beating Bama this year. House money. Stay positive.
i havne't seen a lot of negativity around, unless you're talking about one of the other forums? whatever may be around here, it's been pretty easy to scroll right past. overwhelmingly positive vibes this week.

i mean, we did, but did we? i kind of talked about that before the LSU game that we may see more FG's because as the field shortens, it helps defenses, especially good ones like LSU's. and it did. i see the same opportunity for Bama.

but 4 TD's and 4 FG's....you do that, you're going win a lot of games.

what you can't do, is kick 6 FG's on your way to a 20 pt total, like we did against FL in 2000. that game felt like a game we'd lose because we couldn't get any TD's. it's what ultimately cost TX the game against Bama, and aTm, well that, and refs that just suck.

so the only way i worry about the FG attempts is if there's only 1 or 2 TD's to go along with them. so if you're sitting there in the 4th qtr with say 26 points...then yeah, i may start thinking about "what might have been" if we had converted a couple of those possessions in to TD's vs FGs....

but kicking your 4th FG to get to 40 pts....? Im cool with that....i'll take that right now in this game......lol
One field goal was to end the half, can't really count it. Of course we missed one too.

in terms of having time left to score a TD at the half, yeah, i get that. and the miss, wasn't that outside the red zone??

but 5 fg's and 4td's isn't hurting my cause!!! lol.

point being, you can kick FG's. that just can't be all you do. if we're 5 for 5 in the red zone it's 1 or 2 TD's and the rest FG's, i say we lose that game. if we're 7/8 in the redzone and have 3-4 TD's and the rest FG's, we can win that game.

maxmize the trips/opportunities. the way we play footbal on offense really forces your to change they way you've viewed football strategy. the old tried and true methodology and tactics are more or less out the window.

anyway, i hear what you're saying, i'm just not sure it matters if we get 7, 8 trips in the redzone....and it's not like we're not capable of getting TD's from almost anywhere on the field. this staff may look at the red zone as anything inside the 40 for all we know...lol.

Not if they have my upcoming game thread to turn to for confidence and assurance that this is only the beginning.

No. I'm supporting your argument. In reality we settled for 3 field goals in the red zone. The missed one was outside the red zone. We're still 100% in the red zone. Having said that. If we end up settling for FG early in the game, I don't think that bodes well.

agree. i think how that LSU game started was important. the TD on that turnover, then following with the FG....that's good. FG FG there would have been meh.

I think the kicking game may be the edge no one has really talked about this year. McGrath is a beast. He barely missed from 50 but had the distance to make a 60 yarder. Only had one other miss against Akron. Bama has missed 3 field goals this year already.

Is it possible after these last 15 years of 'aimless wandering' that we can exercise the demons of two huge opponents in the same season? Not to mention LSU is still trying to figure what just hit them.
Vol fans deserve this!!

I agree, I'm talking about game time (in case things aren't as easy as LSU). We've got a lot to be happy about right now.
