The Atlanta Braves

Warning… Old guy take incoming.

I’m all for letting people celebrate however they want…. but the Phillies popping champagne to celebrate getting the 3rd Wild Card spot is cringey.

I thought it was funny the Mets celebrated and popped champagne when they clinched a playoff spot and then when the Braves clinched, Snit “nah we are going to bed”.

I think celebrations for making the playoffs are great… but it’s funny how Wild Card teams are acting like they just won the World Series.

I get it, but at the same time, they havent been to the playoffs in years, so its kind of a big deal for them.

Just like Seattle. Like I said, I get it, but baseball is the last sport that treats making the playoffs with such jubilation even though it’s become so much easier. It’s charming and overkill at the same time.

I think the fact that it is a six month (sometimes slog) marathon factors in to that. 4-7 games per week, week after week, for six months. I understand the jubilation, especially if it’s a fairly young/inexperienced roster (like Seattle, or us a couple years back) or a team that hasn’t been to the playoffs in a long time.
