It is about semantics. I don't care how you refer to the 1/6 riot. Call it whatever you want to call it. Whatever it was, it wouldn't have happened without Trump instilling false hope into his rally goers, and then directing them to march down to the Capitol.

Trump and his supporters weren't trying to bring about an end to the democratic system of elections in the United States, but they were trying to subvert the results of a democratic election which Trump had lost. Trump's supporters believed that by disrupting and delaying the formal certification of the electoral college vote, they could put Trump's "alternate elector" scheme into motion. It was total bull $hit ... but that is what they believed.

I didn't say that Donald Trump forced Capitol rioters to act against their free will. They are each responsible for their individual actions. However, Trump did tell them that it was possible for him to still retain the presidency, when it wasn't.

Trump devised a strategy which directly targeted a specific event - the formal certification of the electoral college vote in the United States Capitol. That ceremony in the Capitol wasn't randomly selected by rioters. Trump had emphasized it as being an essential part of his ridiculous plan to retain the presidency.

The rioter's actions were motivated by a desire to help Trump reach that objective of retaining the presidency. To say that Trump had nothing to do with the Capitol riot is ridiculous.

Trump sold the plausibility of this scheme to a mob of his followers, and then directed them to march down to the Capitol, where the formal certification of the electoral college vote was underway. These irrational actions of Trump, subsequently incited a riot, once it became clear that Pence wouldn't be going along with Trump's ridiculous scheme. Donald Trump is directly to blame for the riot.

The bottom line, is that Joe Biden finished with 306 electoral votes while Donald Trump only had 232. Trump selfishly attempted to subvert the democratic system of elections in the United States for his own personal gain. It's not a stretch to describe such actions as being un-American.

It is now BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS. Putin attempted a coup in America by buying the GOP. He wasn't able to get to democrats. Don't know if it was planned or not. Each organization had their own agenda and I would say some were there just to cause chaos, confusion and could care less about Trump. Some were innocent bystanders caught up in the fray. Some were social media junkies, some as we know were QAnon, add the Proud Boys Oath Keepers and a few other militant Trump groups. You got an insurrection.

Organized or Not is not relevant. Maybe to some but overall Meh.

The problem I have with the whole sequence of Events is Trump's self inflicted wounds as to how he handled the situation. Not Presidential and proves he is unfit to hold that office. This was a speed bump to the other damage Trump did to America. We tried a new approach to Govt and it failed. Trump is a stirrer of Crap.
I don't want Trump in Office with any power to control National Security, Nuclear weapons, DOD, DOJ, Foreign Relations, Congress or the Republican Party.

The meeting with Powell, Flynn and Byrne is of concern and the Eastman, Fake Electors and other contacts with the WH COS (Meadows) and Trump should be a concern. Trump circumvented Meadows in his meeting with Powell, Flynn and Byrne which is a concern as well. Trumps total disregard to the Constitution and the Oath he took should be of concern.

Question: Define unarmed, Define Weapon. Bear Mace, Pipes, Staffs w/Spears & other items (Chairs & Fire Extinguishers)? Standard would be can you get through an Airport TSA Security Ck with it. If you can it is not a weapon.
Question: The use of those items with the intent.
Question: The rhetoric coming out of their mouths Showed an intent to harm, disrupt or stop a Congressional Proceeding vs a peaceful protest.

Don't really care if he is indicted or not. He should be but it would be a waste of Time and $$$ --- Bottom Line: He is unfit for any office in government. Although I Would like to see him in charge of the IRS.

I honestly don't think he has any intent of Running again, if he can maintain control from the sidelines why subject yourself to Impeachment and scrunity if elected. Easier to do it from the sidelines vs the limelight. Problem is he is losing support not because of the 1/6 committee investigation but as the result of the words/msgs are getting to be old and wearing out. If he had kept his mouth shut he easily wins in 2024 but he went "Charlie Sheen" because it was all about "Winning".

I say this jokingly but they were the worse planners ever because they got caught.

Finally, I notice that you have altered your defense a bit. At first, you claimed that NONE of the rioters had weapons. I de-bunked that belief with sources, and now you have switched to "no shots were fired." LOL!

I don't care for Joe Biden, and I have been critical of that speech, which I think you are referring to.

However, Biden's attacks on Conservatives/Republicans were no different than what Trump used to say about Democrats, both on Twitter and in his campaign rallies. Republican politicians such as Rep. Jim Jordan, Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene and Rep. Louie Gohmert have used even more incendiary rhetoric against Democrats than that. Sure, it was divisive ... but it was also typical of the political discourse in the United States in 2022. If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

You are either in denial or delusional, if you think Trump and his cronies in Congress haven't said similar things ... or worse.

What Trump said was central to why they were there in the first place, and to what motivated those people to breach the Capitol. That doesn't mean that they aren't responsible for their actions. It does mean that Trump incited a riot.

You need to check your facts. I know that whatever is said to contradict the above will be thrown back into a gray area by you & several others. Trump did a lot wrong of which some is criminal activity. Trump didn't invite an insurrection? Did he fuel an insurrection? Did he seek an illegal method to overturn the results of the Election? Call it like it is. I did not know that is not a crime in America.

I’m just pointing out how stupid your nonsense and obsession with all things Trump really are and how you’ve constantly tried to make that riot out to be more than what it was. There’s nothing criminal in this from Trump’s perspective, period. For all the others that broker the law they should face the consequences.
