Is The 1/6 Commission Coming?

If someone would have brandished a weapon you would have told us. You're obsessed with 1/6.

Since Biden has taken office the economy has slipped into a recession, we are on the verge of WWIII, we have a crisis at the southern border, crime is exploding and all you GAF about is Jan 6, 2021.
A man has to have his priorities straight, burn the world to the ground no matter what, as long as they get Trump.

They care more about how Trump's conduct is labeled, than they care about what he actually did. Take note of how strongly they object to the use of "coup" and "insurrection." ... but they don't dispute what he actually did to contribute to the riot.

That's the saddest part, their preference is to minimize January 6th with labels that they deem more favorable to Trump. Deep down, they know how anti-American Trump's actions were leading up to January 6th but they are a cult so they have to try and sweep it under the rug. Cult members do not criticize their leader.

I guess it would be easy for us to find the numerous posts of yours criticizing the current POTUS?

... or how about just be critical of how stupid Trump's theory was?

By every indication, Donald Trump honestly believed that during the formal process of certification, the Vice President had the power to avoid counting electoral votes of his choosing, even when this involved an election where that same Vice President was also on the ballot. Does it make sense that our founding fathers would have left open the possibility for such a colossal conflict of interest to be exploited in a democratic system of elections?

I know nuance is hard but:

1. Trump was wrong in his theory and wrong to deny the election results once it was clear there wasn't widespread voting fraud
2. On the other hand challenging election results is not only not illegal but specifically allowed for through many processes.
3. The entrance to the Capitol and violence associated with protests was wrong and inexcusable.
4. So far it's hasn't been established that Trump directed any of that.

So I do not condone Trump's actions to fight the election results to the extent he did. After a couple weeks the outcome was clear and it would be in the best interests of all to stop the efforts. That said, fighting the election results with allowed for legal challenges is not illegal and not uncommon (Trump just took it further). I'll say it again - Trump was wrong in his theories and wrong to take it so far. The distinction is that you and others want to criminalize that behavior. If it was criminal then bring the charges. We are approaching 2 years since the event and nothing.

If I had a magic wand Trump would disappear from politics completely. However, the criminalization of politics is a dangerous game and hurts everyone.

I do not believe the 1/6 Capitol incursion was any serious attempt to overthrow the election - it was a childish acting out that no one should condone.

Their is the low IQ cult term. You guys never criticized Obama. You don’t criticize Biden. You blame everything on Trump. Anti-American? So we are now under a pseudo fascist regime with Biden but Trump was anti-American?

Geez guys give this stuff a break. I have figured that both sides are correct is their assumptions and arguments. I not sure if we will ever get to the truth of the matter. What I do know is that it is just as dangerous for each side of the argument to go to extremes to try to prove their point. It is not healthy nor does it accomplish squat. All things Trump...LOL like banging your head against the wall and you see blood and you think it is the wall that is bleeding. When the truth is that it is actually your head. This applies to both sides of the aisle.

Very well put and why you are the Professor.

The 1/6 Capitol breach would not have happened, if Donald Trump had not instilled his followers with the false hope that he could still retain the presidency ... and worse, also convinced them that they could collectively help him do it.

While Donald Trump did not instruct the crowd in front of The White House to forcibly enter the Capitol, he did instruct them to march down there. If he didn't understand what that would lead to? He should have ... but I think he did know what it would lead to, and a riot is exactly what he wanted.

Being the ego-maniac that he is, I think Trump was flattered by the riot, and his "We have to have peace. So go home. We love you. You're very special," video message reflects that. He certainly wasn't angry at those Capitol rioters, was he? He was flattered by how much they cared, and what they were willing to do for him. That is who Trump is.

Bad behavior isn't illegal behavior necessarily
Prideful behavior isn't illegal behavior necessarily
Ignorant behavior isn't illegal behavior necessarily
Negligent behavior isn't illegal behavior necessarily

So far I haven't seen anything that would equate to illegal behavior by trump. And tons of what you said, while I agree with, is simply speculation.

Look at all the pols inciting the American people. Happens all the time and much more direct threats than the some assumption of the words of Trump.
We have seen Congressman call for invalid electoral process on the House floor..Waters and such saying harass the opposition, a potential threat to a SCOTUS Justice, a baseball game shooting of a Congressman, .ad nauseam.

The only one that got caught...LOL
Ah, so are you with BB on this? This crowd, 99% or so of which were unarmed, that didn’t fire a single shot or even draw their weapons was executing a plan to force the government to replace Biden with Trump. Right. They must be the worst planners ever.

Well I mean no one has accused them of being smart.

Yes, anti-American. When you deny election results and corruptly try to stay in office against the will of the people, you are as anti-American as they come. He is pro-Trump, nothing else.

There are plenty of people who have gone on-record documenting all of Trump's hair-brained ideas to try and stay in power - seizing voting machines, martial law, etc. - but his supporters don't care. It's a zero-sum game to them, they wanted a Dictator instead of a Democracy.

It wasn’t against the Will of all the people. Only the ones that voted for Biden. Roger Stone is an idiot. Trump is far from anti-American. He tried to out Americas interests first and got blasted for it by liberal rubes constantly. Did Trump give billions and billions to a corrupt Ukraine govt? No. Did Trump try to destroy our energy sector by push ridiculous electric vehicle crap? No. Did Trump **** down lol pipelines? No. Did Trump put a ton of fossil fuel workers out of work? No. Did Trump worry more about what places like Germany, rhe UK and others think about us as opposed to us citizens? No. Did Trump deliver a speech that’s been compared to Hitler? No.

Keep trying and keep failing. Trump didn’t cause Jan 6th and he had nothing to do with it. But your side so wants him to be guilty of an insurrection. Why?

How was Trump a dictator? You do realize we aren’t a democracy right?

There was a great deal of anger expressed towards Mike Pence for not going along with Trump's alternate elector scheme. That anger is evident in multiple videos taken from inside the Capitol on January 6, 2021. I would love to ask some of those people who were threatening Pence, if they would like for Kamala Harris to wield the same power in January of 2025, which they thought Mike Pence had that day. Of course they wouldn't. There was a cognitive dissonance among the 1/6 rioters.

You want to have a debate over semantics. That doesn't interest me. I don't care what terminology is used to describe Donald Trump's actions from November 3, 2020 through January 6, 2021.

If you want to say that :

"President Donald Trump presided over an attempt, unsupported by the United States Constitution, to supplant Joe Biden as President-elect which involved civil disorder."

^^^ I would not have a problem with that. ^^^

We just need to have a consensus on what the established facts are. The bottom line, is that Donald Trump had a ridiculous theory concerning how he could retain the presidency following his defeat in the 2020 election, and this theory of his, led directly to a riot at the United States Capitol.

I don't care how that conduct is labeled.
It isn’t semantics. You either believe that or you don’t. I personally don’t believe that Trump or his supporters went there with the intentions of overthrowing our democracy. Are they idiots? Sure, and Anyone including Trump that broke the law there should be prosecuted.
Why make a simple question so difficult?

Trump didn’t cause Jan 6th and he had nothing to do with it.
Trump had nothing to do with it? Seriously?

The 1/6 rioters marched from The White House to the Capitol, because they believed Trump's false claim that there was a scenario in which could still retain the presidency. There is no riot without that false hope.
