Saying that Martha's Vineyard doesn't have resources is just flat-out asinine. A single resident on Martha's Vineyard has the resources to cover the entire group of immigrants that just arrived. The problem is that the liberal leftists that inhabit the island don't intend to spend THEIR precious resources dealing with the illegal aliens that they have let flood into the country. They intend to use OTHER PEOPLE'S MONEY to do that, and they don't ever want to see the results of the misery that they are reigning down on this nation. Hence, they have the National Guard sweep up the illegals and get them off their island.

Cry me a river dude. Martha’s Vineyard is a playground for the ultra rich and wealthy. There is tons of money floating around. They just don’t want all these immigrants because it disrupts their delicate lifestyle. Your party yet again shows it’s hypocrisy.

I see I have gotten a bunch of replies, I will respond to a few of them. The reality is that there are very few liberals who post here regularly.

It sounds like you only want people to post on the politics forum of VolNation who are in complete agreement with your conservative perspective, which is a big reason that I have lost interest in posting here. You want an echo chamber. Any message board forum, which never features any dissenting viewpoints, and only includes those posters who are in full agreement with each other 100% of the time, is bound to get a little boring after a while. Most people who post to a political forum enjoy some debate among the political discourse. The politics forum on VolNation used to be that way as well. Now, it seems, that posters only come here for affirmation of their already existing opinions. Dissenting views are met with hostility ... and this has become a boring forum.

Expecting civilians to personally provide care for immigrants, when they do not reside in a designated sanctuary locale "is just flat-out asinine." The point is, these undocumented immigrants could just as easily have been transported to Boston - which is a sanctuary city. This was a publicity stunt by Ron DeSantis. He was using these undocumented immigrants as pawns, in order to make a political statement that would play well to his party's xenophobic base.

That is really not the point. These undocumented immigrants could have just as easily been relocated to Boston, which is a sanctuary city. There is not a designated sanctuary city/town on Martha's Vineyard. So why were they taken there? Because Ron DeSantis thought it would be a clever political ploy and amuse his base. This was a publicity stunt.

.... and once again, only the Governor can activate National Guard personnel to "State Active Duty."

If the National Guard was deployed to Martha's Vineyard in response to this stunt by Ron DeSantis (and I haven't verified that they were), then that order would have been handed down by Governor Charlie Baker of Massachusetts, who is a Republican.
