I for one want a wide open playbook or at least 2/3 of the playbook against Akron. That would give many more wrinkles for our future opponents to worry about. One problem with a vanilla offensive game plan is that the defensive coordinator can essentially take those plays out of your playbook because they know how you set up to run them. I want to baffle the ever living sh1t out of the defensive coordinators. Every game give them another wrinkle to worry about to the point where they are just blubbering masses of ineptitude by the time our offense takes the field against their team. 😈

I’m just the opposite. If you can be vanilla and win easily then do so. Keep the special wrinkles and plays for those tough opponents. JMO

Maybe DraftKings just sent me this opt-in because they see my current balance is very low because of my losses last week, but DK users y’all should check to see if you can get a deposit bonus. They will give you a free bet worth 25% of whatever you deposit. So deposit $40 and you get a free $10 bet. I was just about to deposit a little more cash to get ready for this weeks bets so it was great timing 👌🏻

I'm a bit torn...

I think you can't expect your players to "treat it like any other game" when you hamstring the playbook and play calling. I want my players to have as much experience with the plays we want to run as much as possible. So I understand saving something for the big dogs, but I also want to give the players as many chances as possible to run the plays we're going to be calling against the big dogs.

And I also wouldn't change the play calling with backups in. Get those guys the same experience running the plays full speed against opponents as you do the starters.

I put $200 in at the start of the season. If I bust, Im done. Im at $260 right now.

Hooker was named the SEC offensive player of the week in week 2, but why? Didn't he have a bit of an off game? Jayson Swain was filling in for Jeff Francis Monday night on Big Orange Hotline as Jeff had traveled out west with MTSU (where his son is a starting LB) to see the Blue Raiders beat up on Colorado State. Anyway, Bob, Pat, and Jayson all claimed it was the worst performance they had seen out of our offense since Heupel got here. (side note, I think that could be arguable).

Anyway, performance week to week is relative. So according to ESPN's EPA for SEC QBs in week 2, Hooker was best in the conference. QBR measures a lot of things into one metric including passing and running. Richardson at Florida was tops in week 1 due to his running but last week he didn't run and so his EPA tanked to last in the conference. Hooker led the conference in overall QB EPA because he dominated last week in passing EPA. We're not using him a lot right now in running so he doesn't get the boost from that to his overall QBR. Still, there's a reason Hooker was selected as the SEC offensive player of the week. He was the one QB in the conference that helped his team the most. jmo.

I usually do just $25 and ride it out. Last two seasons I’ve ended up with $200+ at the end of the season without putting more in. When I doubled my money first week I took out the $25 I originally put in to proceed with house money, and then lost 90% of the house money. So I’m about to put the original $25 back in and rebuild.

Amen! You don’t outTRICK quality opponents…you outPLAY them. Best teams have never been shy about showing what they got and working on making it better. That work gets done in Akron type games.

Head in the game, SS. (Re: Nico and first-round-pick Mac Jones)

Nah man. All about Hooker, whom you clearly hate. :really, really bright blue font:

P.S. We should be thrilled that a) Hooker is a boss, b) if there were a QB controversy this year, it would be because Milton became even more of a boss, and c) if Nico manages to beat out Milton next year, it'll be because he legitimately is a generational talent...meaning: we win regardless.

Actually, if putting $100 in gets me a free $25 bet to lay down on UT 1Q spread, I may just do that and then take out the $100 after this week haha

No no… I want to peddle my opinion some more and die on my hill in spite of the Vols performance and trumpet it all at the expense of fandom.

I wish recruiting was more difficult but also wondering how much more time I’d have to spend doing that instead of playing games. Not sure how they find a balance

I get annoyed of recruiting but the difference in spending a couple minutes on it than not is getting the #1 class or the #14 class, so I’ll take the time.

I’m just surprised you’re still awake. Old geez... I mean the elderly usually have a earlier bedtime. What, around 7 or 8? I have to give to you, you’ve managed to hang in there tonight longer than InVol. His home heath nurse must have given his night time meds. Poor guy...
I had to go pee.

Yeah I have the #1 class every year. It’s not fun like that. But also idk how they could make it more “realistic” bc you’d have to spend even more time on it if dudes went elsewhere.

I love the idea of the portal being in the game tho. Just not sure how to fix recruiting.

Actually even gameplay is too easy. I take over any program, no matter how bad they were before, and nearly always go undefeated.
