I will agree that you are right to a degree, but Burrow and his pass catchers made that OL look even better by executing at such an insanely high level.I also don't think our OL is anywhere near as good as that group Burrow had.
QB and WR wise I think we're "there"....but our OL is still a year or two away imo from being anywhere close to elite like other SEC teams have had.

I like how cooper said on Off The Hook podcast after the Pitt game, that he would rather play against big, strong linemen, than smaller, faster guys like Pitt had. He said Pitts dline was as good as anybodys. Said they reminded him of Georgia last year. Said Kancey was a problemDoes anyone think we will work on potential adjustments with Cooper before the FL game? Looking at their D line and that Watson kid at 415# may cause some issues in the middle... With the fast paced offense we run, he'll be gassed after 5-6 plays, but he could create a problem since Coop is a bit undersized at center.
Nah…. Bottom completely fell out…. If he could have been consistently average then maybe…. Had to stay in that 6-6, 7-5 range….. Nebraska was looking for any reason at all to be able to keep him.20-25 years ago, a Scott Frost-type probably builds a Nebraska-type program to national relevance in 10 years. We are in at 11-1 with a close loss to Georgia in Athens.
We'd have ranked wins over Pitt, UF, UK, Bama, and I foresee LSU being undefeated and ranked on Oct. 8th. We'd have Top 10 wins over Bama and UK.
LSU has MSU, New Mex, and Auburn between now and then. MSU is the biggest test for them.
Also don't overlook the gravity of the UK game. They're going to roll into Knoxville for a night game on Oct 29th, with us being Dark Mode or Smokey Greys, and they'll probably be undefeated and Top 10 (Total Fool's Gold for them due to schedule). We would also be in the Top 10 for that matchup. It could be College Gameday.
Between now and then Kentucky plays Youngstown State, Northern Illinois, at Ole Miss, USCj, and MSU. They could easily win all those games, but they could also inexplicably lose one or more of them. Ranked Ole Miss in Oxford will be a challenge. MSU will be a challenge for most of the league and will surely get a big upset or two. But UK has had their number since Leach arrived.
If we roll into Athens undefeated it will be #1 UGA vs Top 5 Vols.
I am by no means expecting this or getting my hopes up. We could also tank and lose to UF, LSU, UK, and Bamabut with Bama looking extremely vulnerable this weekend... it isn't out of the question that we could be in this position.
