We play like this and Florida is gonna smoke us, maybe Kentucky too. Need to not have hiccups on Offense. If the offense could play like last game and the defense like this game, we could go 10-2.

As I said last year - Pitt's D is a complete anomaly.

The way they happily leave everyone on an island, it's very unique. And yet we were pretty unlucky to not connect on multiple TD plays.

That said - we do need more long play confidence in guys other than Tillman. Hyatt, Calloway, Bru, Squirrel.

But our rushing game will open up vs other defenses and that should give us more diversity.

I’ll never not celebrate a win, even if the offense tried its best to give it away. I’ll just focus on the positives:

That defense, with as bad as the first few drives were to start the game, bailed us out big time and it started in that 2nd Q.

Fortunately both those games will be in Knoxville. We have time to clean up our mistakes and move forward. On the road you have to create your own momentum, we just need to build confidence and improve week to week.

Fingers crossed. This team and this fanbase deserves to have a good year. Everytime we have a glimmer of hope since 2009 it’s come crashing down on our heads.

A&M lost to App st., and ND lost to Marshall. We played like dookie amd won on the road against a top 25 team. I’ll take it!

But this program just did something we haven't done in 20 years... And the best part... Nobody...I mean nobody saw this game being defined by the plays our defense made...

Winning that game the way we did is almost more impressive that the way most thought we'd win it.

Ranked win in OT on the road against the reigning ACC Champions.

Defense had 2 TOs and I think 6 sacks. Allowed 2 big plays but overall held contain and was disruptive.

Hooker passed for 325 and 2TDs. Tillman 162yds 1 TD including game winner in OT.

The only thing I could really complain about is special teams. Blocked punt and muffed punt. Both resulted in scores.

So I think Pitt was in this game on 4 major plays: the long rushing TD, the TE hurdle TD, and the two special teams miscues. Defense otherwise dominated and offense put up 34.

Only Tennessee fans would complain about that win.

Alabama almost took an L on the road against a backup QB as the far better team.

As poor as the 2nd half offense was...

Gotta give this team A LOT of credit for coming out down 0-10 and never playing like it. We played with a lot of heart all game. Just stupidity and mistakes in H2. But never stopped willing our way to an ugly win.

Let's not take these kind of wins for granted, because people have been asking for them for years.

They won a conference championship last a lot of that team returning. I think when you go on a road and win a game like that it's good. I think Pitt is on the same tier as Utah but agree about the healthy Q B.
