CB's has 4.4 and 4.5 star reviews on Google, not sure how much that really means, but if that's the case it's a lot better than when we ate there.

Prolly the in flux of west coast, east coast, and yankees writing reviews. They're taste buds aren't refined. Yet. :D

Hayal Yeah! Lol

I like Johnson City (from what little I've seen). I told HBPW we need to go up sometime and try a couple eateries out.

I was gonna stop at Pals this time - dam the line.
Which Pal’s did you attempt? ETSU and Bristol Hwy are typically tough. St of Franklin, Gray and Jonesborough are manageable if not during lunch hours

I think it was the Bristol Hwy location. I came back through around 10 am and there was already 10 cars in line.

My sister thinks Cootie Browns is fantastic. Imo, it’s like one step up from Applebees/Chili’s/Cheddar’s. I don’t know where you’re coming from @malinoisvol, but there are far better JC restaurants to make a special trip for. Firehouse has my favorite pulled pork. Southern Craft has unbelievable burnt ends and sides. Mid City is fantastic. If Scratch pizza has reopened, it’s great. Greg’s pizza is a fave of mine, but people either love it or hate it. Label is really good too

I was on the Bristol Hwy, Roan, and I-26 parts. I seemed to be out on the southern and eastern edges.

La Carreta is pretty good Mexican too fwiw. Not sure if they have tamales or not. There’s an absolute hole in the wall Mexican place in Kingsport, out near Holston Ammo that’s absolutely incredible. Not the place right on 11W, the one behind it.

Also, NC bbq is awful imo. Not sure you can find it anywhere in JC. That said, I haven’t gone looking for it
Only 1 place I will ever eat it and it's in Goldsboro, NC. WILBURS'S is FAWKING A.W.E.S.O.M.E!

Were you stationed there?
Two lousy years. My first stop was at the Personnel office, not to sign in, but to get the hail out! They laughed and said no one leaves this base with less than 4 years on station. I said watch me. 18 months later I received my orders to Alaska.

I spent a good part of one night there. We had two guys attached to a psyop team. Last group of their kind out of Iraq. For some reason they flew into there instead of Bragg. I got Monday and Tuesday off to go pick them up with another guy on a Sunday night. Wound up there from 8pm until a little after 2 am. Didn’t seem like much of a place.

It isn't. The culture among the locals was not comforting. I'll say the same about Shreveport, a place we lived for 21 months.
