Yup. That's the problem. They have supply, but they paid 5-10x the real costs. So, unless there is a recession or most likely start to see depression.... they will most likely blow through the reserves. Nothing they are doing is really fixing anything.

If you want the economy to keep going, they have to find lots of cheap energy. We'll see how the winter goes, the economic war is only in the beginning phase at the present course.

Very hard for the europeans to step all this back.

The real reason has been known for 30+ years. Large military forces especially those of NATO will not be allowed there, that is where they place deployment of the tactical nukes, see Congressional Records from late 90s. All other reasons are secondary. Without that they don't have an adequate defense on the Eastern side of the house.

As a side note the grain agreement might be falling apart.

Further, I've seen no evidence they possess any nuclear weapons currently. If you claim otherwise, provide a link.

Someone will get rich on the black market. This always follows price controls.

Bailouts to the companies they want to put out of business, I guess in the hopes one day they invest again. The Europeans are not really solving the issue which is lack of supply, diversity of supply andor domestication of supply.
You can't print gas/oil, so unless they want their economy shutdown or depopulation in the future... they better start doing something of value. The issue now is oil/gas investors are not going to rush in to invest as they need 30+ years to get a return on large projects. The next PM will just want to shut it all down again.

I kind of agree with norrislakevol, we might have hit peak price and prices come down for a bit. Ultimately its hard to see where they get supply for in the future unless they go back to living like a caveman ie cut demand.

They're in the process of bailing everyone out but it doesn't solve anything.

Everyone wants to live like citizens of the USSR in the 1980s.
