He had a quiet day, but Christian Harrison may be someone that we start seeing emerge more in that secondary. But I think Josephs had the best showing on defense, almost had an INT and was flashing some elite speed as an edge guy while also playing early. He looked like a big WR on the end though, hopefully he's able to add good weight to that frame cause if he can he's got all the tools to be a special player.

I also feel like the defense didn't really sell out against Ball State. Not only was play calling vanilla, but we really didn't see BY or Baron causing havoc. Honestly think the effort was probably not full speed. Ball State play called very well to help themselves avoid having to hold up against pass rushes though. But rewatching some of our DL pressure looked more like "push 'em back and keep them from peeling to the next level" more than "get to the QB as hard and fast as possible"

definitely was let down by squirrel not getting much action he’s been a big talking point all through spring practice hopefully he’s implemented more in game plans.

Had 3 catches. That WR room is basically wide open after Tillman.

We have a clear proven #1 WR and then you got a log jam for snaps/targets after him. Bru, Hyatt, Walker, Keyton, Calloway, Holiday and then you add your true freshmen into the mix with White, Webb, and Nimrod. But we also know this staff can roll with the same 3 guys if that's what needs to happen.

So we'll see a lot of "auditioning" for some of those WRs. Which I hope continues to be the case all season honestly. Being able to run 6 or 7 deep at WR in this sort of offense will make us even scarier as the season goes on with fresh legs being able to just roll into series without missing a beat.

That being said...Squirrel looked like he belonged just as much as the other WRs out there. Where I hope we see him emerge more this year is in the return game.

I caught up with Smith Snowden, a cornerback out of Utah that added an offer from the Vols this morning.

Here is what Snowden said:

"Tennessee is my first SEC offer so it’s very special to me. I like that they are the first SEC offer to look past my height and see that I can play in the SEC. I talked to Aaron Amaama and Trey Johnson this morning. I will get on a call with coach Martinez tomorrow 3pm.

"This offer definitely puts Tennessee on my radar. It is a place I can see myself visiting for sure. They took a chance on me and I’m so grateful for it."
