President Joe Biden - Kamala Harris Administration

BEIRUT (AP) — The U.S. military said early Wednesday it carried out airstrikes in eastern Syria that targeted areas used by militias backed by Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard.

The U.S. military’s Central Command said the strikes “took proportionate, deliberate action intended to limit the risk of escalation and minimize the risk of casualties.” It did not identify the targets, nor offer any casualty figures from the strikes, which the military said came at the orders of President Joe Biden.

“Today’s strikes were necessary to protect and defend U.S. personnel,” Central Command spokesman Col. Joe Buccino said in a statement.

The colonel added the attack was in response to an Aug. 15 attack targeting U.S. forces. That attack saw drones allegedly launched by Iranian-backed militias target the al-Tanf Garrison used by American forces.

AP reported that it will be $10,000 forgiveness per borrower with an income limit of $125,000 single filer and $250,000 joint filers. Payment pause extended until January. Per Admin sources.

Student loan help for millions coming from Biden after delay
with almost a third owing less than $10,000 and more than half owing less than $20,000,

If the amounts are so small why are we wasting the time and money? This is absurdity to pander to those who simply don't want to pay for services received.

Why not move to car loans next? Boats? RV?

The scam is that loans are forgiven, then colleges can continue to raise tuition. College has become a politicized scam.

ohhh....... I would love a nice diesel RV. I'll paint it orange and we can have a Volnation tailgate every game weekend. C'mon Big guy, lets forgive those RV loans.

There’s these us who sacrificed while our kids were young and growing but saved money each money so our kids won’t have to take out loans aka a responsible parent and we get screwed. Thank Joe for f****g nothing.

And what about the kids buried in debt that will never be able to own a house because their parents lived paycheck to paycheck and they were forced to take out loans for tuition? Not really having a clue at the time (because 17 years old) exactly how long it would take to pay those loans back?

I have been paying my student loans for almost 10 years now, the balance has gone up almost 20k. I'm on the "pay on time for 25 years and we'll forgive the rest" plan. 10k is a drop in the bucket and really doesn't even effect me.

“Forced” seems like a peculiar choice of wording.

Only way to go to college. Parents drilled into my head I had to go to college. I know now that is a lie but I sure didn't then.

Banks wouldn't give a 17 year old with no real job a mortgage loan, they'd laugh in your face. So why is it different for student loans? Because its a scam.

If only the feds didn't get into the student loan business and give colleges a free pass to jack up tuition.

The last year I was in college, 2001, you could still afford a full time schedule on a part time job. I think it was around $1400 for 12 hours. I paid for my own college as long as I went. A guidance counselor when I was 18 tried to sell me on student loans so I didn't have to work in college, and I told her it was insanity to take on debt like that.

Loaning money for school to someone seeking a legitimate degree is a good thing. If I remember correctly, they are done on a yearly basis. So progress towards this legitimate degree would need to be proved on a yearly basis, to get the next yearly loan.

Lending money to someone to improve their future earning ability is not the problem here.

Again, the only real problem is government.

I’m guessing your study curriculum wasn’t in accounting or finance?

So because some people made bad decisions we must punish those who made better decisions? That seems fair and productive.

You need to start learning from life rather than expecting resets. Dont trust the government, and that means schools and universities too. I just love the argument presented here. Instead of being angry at and fixing the system that hosed you, you instead want to make sure more people get hosed as well. People need to learn that cold hard lesson, and then it wont be a problem. Forgiveness just awards their bad decisions.

College life has become a complete scam.

All this money for “education” has created this arms race. Building nicer dorms, amenities, dining, etc. it is like a 4 year country club visit for young adults.
